Deal I couldn't pass up

Went to GM today to get some reloading gear on sale. Missed the part in that add, that it was only bullets/brass/powder. Not a huge deal, BUT...my GM only had 223/308 brass, and a very brisk selection of Hornady bullets. Powder...nothing I don't already have a few lbs of. Decided to look at their extremely bare used section, and then saw all used guns are 10% off Wed-Sat. Took a while to get someones attention (only 2 guys I know still work there, that place turned to fecal piles and everyone quit or got fired for not selling enough credit cards). But finally I get some help and I have him read off the used guns I don't recognize on the shelf. Some OK deals...nothing special, but the last one he shows me is a Ruger Mk ii (post tang, pre hawkeye) with a lot of scraps on the blue. 350$! With the 10% I put that bad boy on layaway for 315$ I put it on LAW because I still had yet to go to Cabela's and I'll be going to BPS tomorrow, so just in case I found something else I liked better I didn't fully purchase.
But alas, nothing better at Cabela's. I'll be picking it up next week after payday. Its a wood/blue 7mm Rem Mag. Had a scope on it, forgot what it was. Wasn't something I was after or anything, but good guns at that price are rare as hens teeth around here anymore, the gun laws and buying craze totally dried up the decent used market. For under 350$ OTD it was a no brainer! Pics to follow upon pick up

Words of wisdom from Big Chief: Flush twice, it's a long way to the Mess Hall
I'd rather have my sister work in a whorehouse than own another Taurus!
This is pre-Hawkeye
We'll see! I've been pricing out 375 barrels and 375 rifles (my intent was to go put a 375 H&H sako on layaway at cabela's today) so I would hate to shoot this and its a gem as a 7mm RM
Great bullets. Great velocity.
Absolutely nothing. Send them to me.
:-)
Three position safety, Ruger rings, good rifles.
Some are tack drivers some not
Could be a new friend in the making
Yup, this is a 3 safety, but pre Hawkeye so....late 80's thru mid 90's? The floorplate is scratched to hell, a few bumps in the stock. Love what a few scratches does to the value of a rifle! That is how I got the M70 300 wby for, coincidentally, 350$ from the same store. Those M70 XTR's are going for 800$ avg online now even with bumps and bruises
I'd go back and pick it up today but I'm going to BPS tomorrow to get a Garmin x30 package for a stupid low price. So it has to wait until Friday
I'm being facetious. Goad you into keeping it 7mm.
I'm sure the 120's would cook! It would make a real nice 375 Ruger though
It would. But, it would also be a smoking deer rifle.
If I could shed 2+lbs off of it, yes, yes it would
Squirrel. This is 100% squirrel and I can't even deny it. Just couldn't pass this deal up
I do want my 375-something real bad. I already hit up Caleb about doing a Ruger on the Ruger.
Just not fast .30s.
Don't you have a 300 RUM?
Yep. Bought it for the action. The rifle was used for less than I could buy an action. So, like you, it was a deal I couldn't pass.
Killed a deer with it and haven't decided what to do with it now.
Load 200gr Accubonds and come hunting in Colorado? Worked out for JBOhio
I'm loading 208gr A-Max and not coming to Colorado. Elk don't really draw me anymore.
If they lived in my backyard, I would hunt them. Not enough of an allure to pay and travel for them anymore.
Oh come on. Elk draw you. That bugle haunts you. It ain't that much pay either when you know locals
I love the sound. I love the country. I'd rather hunt deer.
