Moving to Bowling Green may not be so bad....

.....I was up there, Wed & Thursday, looking for a house. When I got ready to head home, I stopped by Wally World and scored 3 333rd. boxes of Winchester .22s. And right next door is a little place called the Liquor Barn, open 7 days a week and about 1/4 the size of your average WW........and it has a tasting bar.

I'm guessing move is for new job. Sounds like .22 ammo and a good package store next door is a good 'one stop shopping' opportunity. Bowling Green is in a right nice area, just watch out for the college kids!

Sorta kinda. The plant I work at is closing. The company has a much bigger plant, in Bowling Green. They offered us the chance to relocate. I'll keep my seniority, get a nice raise, and $15K to cover my relocation.

I bought a bottle of Rommel's Afrika Corps rum in the Class VI on post in Germany back in the 70s. Bottle was wrapped in some burlap stuff and had a label card of authenticity saying it was drawn from bbls of rum earmarked/shipped to them or something..............anyhow I just drank it and maybe made some hot tea Grog outta it.

Guess I was Rum Dumb fer a bit...............heck, maybe 5 bucks, which was good money (to me on E-3 or 4 pay) back then just fer something to drink.

Not too far from my home town of Owensboro, KY. Good gun store there called Whittakers. Worth a visit if you get up that way.

[I have no connection to Whittaker's]

Thanx. Once I get settled, I intend to start checking out local LGSs and such.

So is Nonie going there too? She is such a love, I sure hope so....looking forward to having her here for another shoot!

She's staying in Newbern. No way, I'd try to take her away from her grandkids. I'll have enough vacation time to make a lot of trips home and we're planning on her being at the next shoot.

You won't be but 8-10 miles from two of the very best contemporary flintlock rifle builders in the world! The House Brothers....Hershel and Frank. Go by and meet them.

Watch out for sink holes and make sure to explore Mammoth Cave extensively.
