Century / Saiga style 12 gauge?

twatwa Posts: 2,245 Senior Member
I have always thought about a saiga 12, I have a few in .308 and .223 but never got around to the 12 gauge. Anyone have any experience with the century model that is very similar? Are tha mags interchangeable? Prices compared to the Saiga are much more in line for me, but don't want to throw it away on junk. Any input appreciated. (Putting a link to one from gunbroker)

By the way merry Xmas to all, the "family" here!

I have one of the first ones that came into this country. I am friends with the importer, (EAA, European American Armory). It is an AK47, my one was made by Kalashnikov. Except for the ammo, it is identical to one in 7.62x54. It is cylinder bore, no choke, and the sights are rifle sights. I have put a lot of rounds through mine and operation is flawless. I once shot a round of skeet through it just to see if I could. It is my HD gun and sits behind the front door, at the ready, loaded with 7 rounds of 00 Buck. I say buy it.......robin

I do not think the Catamount Fury and Fury II will take Saiga 12 mags without a modification to the mag release.

BTW, I LOVE my Saiga 12 (and if this GD computer does not stop autocorrecting Saiga to Saga, It may meet the business end of the Saiga 12). It is just fun as heck to shoot, and is just the kind of big black scary gun that freaks out the grabbers.

Thanks for the input fellas....I should have read the link to the auction I posted a little better. Says right in it that it does NOT take Saiga mags. And I know what your saying on the auto correct, my iPad kept doing that also!!!

    I did find this though.....

Well, since all I really heard was one positive opinion, I decided to jump on this....
I did find some 10 round mags and have a couple of those on order as well. If it is a fail, I still don't have much in it. Will report back when I get some range time in.

    Very cool! Nice score

Are you going to do the conversion and put a traditional stock and grip on it?

Let us know how you like it, just never warmed up to them as I would to a regular AK
