Scope will ill be here tomorrow, and I'm going to get powder in about an hour.
Going to load a few rounds and try to sight in this weekend. Any tips or starting places to suggest for loads?

To make something simple is a thousand times more difficult than to make something complex.

What powder?
A Mueller 6-14x super tactical with target knobs 6" tall!!
Actually its the Weaver 2-8 handgun scope. Powder will be H4350 if they have it, if not I may take suggestions on other alternatives

Which part? Making fun of Mueller scopes?
-Mikhail Kalashnikov
Yea....I was wondering why you went going with the Ultra Tacticool Mueller with the 8" tall target knobs.
That was a joke. The next sentence was the real scope- weaver 2-8x handgun scope

I know.

His twist is too slow. He's trying the 85gr Sierra, I believe.
Yessir, I am. Also, would not heavier bullets be slower from the short barrel? Velocity is pretty important for the .243, right?

Remember, my 6x45 is technically slower than a .243 Winchester. But, as long as I utilize it within the velocity threshold of the bullet for the intended purpose........I'm good to go.

Scope is here!
Now, I just need a couple of hours without work, honey-do's, or the "Hey, Dad!" to happen, and I might be able to build some ammo. Thinking of doing 5 rounds at load book minimum, and 5 at half grain increments up to one grain under max and see what groups the best. Any other suggestions?

Start 1.5gr below Hodgdon Book Max
Work up in .5gr increments to .5gr over Book Max
Stop when indicated to do so.
