2015 - Summary of Acquisitions

ZeeZee Posts: 28,369 Senior Member
This was a good year and it was mostly a "Handgun Year" for me. I'll see if I can sum it up.

Handguns:
Ruger Redhawk Stainless 4.2" in .45 Colt/ACP
Ruger Redhawk Stainless 7.5" in .44 Mag
Ruger SBH Stainless Bisley in .454 Casull
Ruger SRH Stainless 5" "Toklat" in .454 Casull
Ruger GP-100 Stainless w/ 6" barrel in .357 Mag
Ruger SBH Stainless 4.6" in .44 Mag
15" Full Bull MGM barrel in .30-06 Spr for Encore Pistol
10" MGM Barrel in .357 Mag for Contender Pistol
Glock 43 in 9mm
Springfield Armory 1911 Range Officer in 9mm

Longarms:
Rossi M92 24" Octagonal Barrel in .45 Colt
27" MGM barrel in 6.5-06 A-Square for Encore Rifle
H&R Handi-Rifle in .357 Mag
Stoeger Double Defense 12ga
Remington 700 in .260 Remington
Savage Action w/ 20" .430 SJS Barrel

Holy Crap! I think I have a problem.

I think I will slow down next year. Didn't realize it had gotten that stupid.

There ARE a couple on my list to acquire, though.

What all did you guys add for 2015? Assuming they weren't all lost in a boating accident.

(This isn't "bragging rights". Just fun to see where our interests were this past year. I didn't realize mine were so much towards handguns. The previous year, I think I leaned towards Black Guns.)

I had a horrible boating accident. Actually, I would talk about them, but most are either donors for builds, donors for the SJS project, or ones I haven't even shot yet.

    House

A big enough safe (for now)
Lee-Navy. Lee Navy dies, sling, chargers. Brass ordered. I need a 45-70 now so I can stack arms Span American war style too.
Another 03  Reasonable price, WW2 rework. Stock was refinished and over scraped. It will probably go into a stock I pulled off that was butt ugly that I worked on over time to get it to pretty OK. Wasnt looking, but a buddy called and put me on it.
    Donor/daughters pig hunt Rem 700 in 06
    VX-3 Scope w/Ger#1 reticle
New spotting scope. Old one croaked at Camp Perry so I got a decent price.
AR-A1 upper, and a lower on order..... still. Proper attachments.
and I won a auction for a Krag bayonet and scabbard.

    Bathroom, garage...

A very large year for me. Mostly I am good for one. I like not having a mortgage.
It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.

Amen. I have been trying to knock out my 30 year mortgage in 9. I still got 23 more payments to go after tomorrow.

Only one this year, NAA Guardian in 32 acp

I sold off a lot of guns because of this move and a need for a smaller safe.

Zee, for some reason that Glock 9 seems out of place.

picked up a couple this year, just this week I bought an unfired Mossberg Patriot, camo with the fluted barrel and spiral fluted bolt, parkerized type finish, 3x9 vortex scope in 30-06 with 2 boxes of ammo for $300.
A young lady had bought it for her husband for Christmas and he decided he no longer wanted to be married, so I got a deal.

    Cz 455 22 LR
    Pedersoli Trapdoor Springfield 45-70
    Winchester model 12 20 gauge, I'm happy
I'd like to do some horse trading and pick up a 30-06 Mauser action for a 35 Whelen build, as well as put one of my old 99 Savages back into service, it needs a rebarrel, I'm pretty sure both will not be on the cards in the next few years however.

Actually that's not quite true; I got myself an unexpected Christmas present when my dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse on an assembled Bravo Company AR15 lower. It's got their new lightweight stock and grip, and now hosts my lightweight CMMG 14.5 upper.
