Just called to extend my stay through Saturday night, and they lost my original reservation. So if anyone else has a reservation there, you might want to double check it.
I called: still good to go!

The hot air ballon fest is pretty cool. There must be 70 or 80 or more of them. They go up very early if anyone wants to check them out before going to jerrys, it's not to far or hard to find.

Same thing happened to me. I called to see if they could add Joe B. to my existing reservation...to which they told me that I did not have a reservation. Thankfully, they weren't full yet, but that could've been a real doozy if they ran out of rooms. Definitely double check ASAP if you haven't done so already or you may not have a place to stay.

Booked my room, at the Best Western, last year, through Expedia. They sent me a email, last week, confirming my reservation.

You're getting awful feisty. Maybe time for a little attitude adjustment.

    Ain't he though.

I'm sure he will get his morning briefing by Mrs Clean at the hotel before he shows up on the expected behavior standards she sets for him or else................it will be a very long ride home for Ned.............:yikes: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

I wonder what amenities the motel 6 has.........I mean should I bother to bring a laptop?

I'm weary of Hotel/Motel Internet services anyhow.

Well, that Quality Inn is apparently staffed by idiots :cuss:

The reservation for this Friday that they said didn't exist, showed up as a pending charge on my credit card this morning. Called them and it was for my stay last night :uhm: When I told them I slept in my own bed last night, they sent a housekeeper down to check, and found the room clean. They SAID they'd refund that charge, but I called the CC company and disputed it, just in case they are as incompetent in that aspect as they are in making/finding reservations.

Also cancelled my reservation with them for this weekend and will be staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites instead

I ate at the Waffle House at that Quality Inn tonight. Crappy waffle house too.

There are about 7 or 8 motels right at that exit off I-65. I'd be real surprised if they are all full but if they are, head east on 72 about 10 miles and there are a bunch in Huntsville/Madison.

Kids used to call them the Awful House

However, I have found over the years it depends on each individual location. One we ate at near Atlanta years ago sucked. One near Fort Stewart/Hinesville GA was pretty good.

I ate lunch at one in Anderson, SC last year and thought it was pretty good.

Thanks, about everything ready to get an early start tomorrow.

I'm feeling adventurous (sort of) and have map spotted a route that avoids 231 through Dothan and Montgomery outskirts which I hate to get to I-65. Parts of that place make me wanna hold the steering wheel in one hand and a .357 Mag in the other!

Six of one and half dozen of the other for most routes. Atlanta way, no thanks or cutting across off at Tifton. I've tried them all. But that was usually headed to Huntsville or 70 miles East up on Sand Mtn to visit kinfolks.

I'm pretty sure my Waffle House habit probably contributed to the need for two stents in my heart. I still eat there on occasion, but the double orders of scattered, smothered, and covered hash browns aren't on the "must have" list anymore!

One we ate at in Huntsville around 1991 or so, some female truck driver with a big chain/wallet, sleeveless T-shirt and looked like she could use a breaker bar better than most men was eyeballing Mrs Chief, I teased her and said she probably wanted to take her cross country to snuggle up with in her sleeper cab..........she was not amused!

I'd start loading the truck except I want to wait until the shade moves around there, probably when I finish my coffee.

I backed it up yesterday and loaded some and some more after it was parked in the garage, tight fit with all the crap stored out there.

One day I'll have enough room to pull in and swing all the doors open at once!

At least there is room to keep it outta the weather and crap falling off tress.
