An ugly gun that shoots is fine for a person of my simple tastes, especially if it's free. I might do some swapping for something I liked better, if I could come close to actual value, but I wouldn't take the beating that the typical LGS offers.

My FNP45 is a sweet shooter. I don't care so much for the DA/SA action as I used to, but it's still a great sidearm. I would keep them both; put the compact into my carry rotation and keep the full size for training and teaching.
Knowledge is essential to living freely and fully; understanding gives knowledge purpose and strength; wisdom is combining the two and applying them appropriately in words and actions.

"FN pistols...they're boxy...but good"
FN pistols are ugly, but the ones I have shot were incredibly smooth functioning guns. An FNP in .45 ACP is on my long list.
