Lowa Boots?

Does anybody here have any experience with Lowa Boots? I'm looking into picking up a pair of non-work boots for hunting/hiking/cooler weather/etc use. Lowa and Danner have both grabbed my attention. Specifically the Danner Pronghorn GTX and the Lowa Renegade GTX (http://www.rei.com/product/789686/lowa-renegade-gtx-mid-hiking-boots-mens).

I have a pair of Danners for work and they are okay, but not good enough that I automatically default to them. I've been seeing Lowa a lot lately, hence this thread.

Thoughts?

Lowa boots were some of the first choice for mountain climbers, in the 60s when I was into climbing I had a pair, there almost indestructible, great ankle support, they lost favor when rock climbers started using tennis shoe types like Selewa's that had a soft rubber wrap around sole that allowed one to "smear" a rock face. I don't know much about them now but I'm sure there still top quality.

Lowa advertises a good bit in Eastman's hunting journal, but I have no personal experience with them.

I do own a set of Danner Pronghorn non-insulated boots (last generation) and I like them a lot. They are incredibly light and have shown plenty of grip when used in the Montana mountains these past 2 years.

Danner makes some great boots, my choice of boots has been Rockys , until they started making them in China, I still have 3 pair that have to be 30 years old and there still waterproof.
