America Fell a Little...
...in Chicago tonight, as free speech and the political process was overthrown by concern over the potential for mob violence. When a leading political candidate is forced into silence for any reason whatsoever it is violence pure and simple. The candidate, his supporters, and the Constitution are all victims - they have all been mugged. Symbolically, but just as surely as if they were actually beaten to a pulp.
This is primarily the fault of the mainstream press, which has created in Mr. Trump a non-existent, fictional monster. Trump has been reported to be anti-immigrant, and nothing could be further from the truth. He is only anti-illegal immigrant - a world of difference there - and he has repeatedly expressed his willingness, even eagerness, to readmit those criminal aliens once they comply with the laws of the land. Trump has been reported to be anti-Muslim, and once again, it is a big lie, told often enough that it is now believed by the low-information masses to be true. Trump is only anti-radical-Islamists -against the Muslims that want to do us harm, abuse women, establish Sharia, and destroy western civilization. Every sane person, including most Muslims, oppose the jihadism of radical Islamists. Many among the demonstrators tonight think Trump is a racist - with absolutely no evidence to back that up. Trump employs and has employed thousands of people with no indication of racial, gender, or any other kind of bias.
The press has fed its audience a steady diet of half-truths, misrepresentations, and outright lies, and nobody with a national voice is calling them on it. The result of this was seen tonight in Chicago - thousands of clueless, mislead, and just plain wrong-headed people taking to the streets for no valid reason, wrecking a political rally, and calling it democracy and freedom. The world is turned upside down, and stuck ass-deep in the quicksand of political dystopia, and sinking fast.
The good news is this "quiet riot" will solidify Trump's support even more, and anyone becoming disgusted watching this fiasco on TV, will now vote for The Donald with even greater enthusiasm. I look for this charade in Chicago to build Trump's support faster and farther than the cancelled rally ever could have done. Now, more than ever, we can see why a stake must be driven through the heart of political correctness, why the press must be crushed by the voters ignoring it and it's deliberate deceptions. This election isn't just about political office, it's about salvaging what's left of our culture and national sanity, and restoring truth to our national discourses.

Lots of Mexican flags were carried by the demonstrators - that's all you need to know.

But that's none of my business....
Frankly, I'm with you in this instance...I also feel that Trump should not have pussed out and called the rally.
As for 'solidifying his support', we'll see.

Simply and perfectly said.
If he's in a no-win situation, it's of his own making. He called for his supporters to beat protestors for crying out loud. He begged for this.

When YOU pay to rent a location for YOURSELF and a bunch of YOUR SUPPORTERS, nobody has anything like a 'right' to crash and disrupt your event. Even if a protester somehow gets a ticket, he still hasn't a right to interfere with your program. It's still YOUR name on the lease and the insurance. If someone gains access to your home under false pretenses, you have every right to defend yourself and your abode. NOTHING Trump says at his rallies is a sufficient excuse to violate his leased premises.
Be sure to drop off your gun collection at Democratic Party Headquarters on your way to the polls. There are none so blind ...
I don't think it is what Trump said that gets these people riled up about finally building a Wall and doing something about unfair trade, it is the fact they are afraid he will really do it unlike the the liars on both sides who have held the WH and Congress back and forth and haven't done squat.

I have. Many times. Yes really.
I've been watching these Marxist sponsored useful idiots for my entire adult life and I'm sick of it. The Country is at a crossroad that has been festering sense the 60's, its time to decide the direction of the Country. If any Marxist/Democrat becomes President we are toast, many freedoms, including the 2nd
Amendment will be erased by the SCOUS. These Marxist [email protected]$$%%% are contemplating at this moment methods by which the DOJ can prosecute
Global Warming non believers, this is what Marxist do.
Trump may to some people be a Jerk, but at the moment he is my Jerk if know one else stands up. If Cruz is our candidate he will receive exactly
the same treatment from the left. Its going to get very ugly weather Cruz or Trump gets the nomination.
The convention in Cleveland could get bloody. So be it!:iwo:

You are, of course, correct in stating that Trump should have the expectation of an unmolested rally. I am merely pointing out that his chickens have come home to roost. Through his campaign tactics alone, he has managed to un-unify this nation even more efficiently than the divider in chief himself.
In order to appeal to his base, he has resorted to tactics that further inflame their opposites. In fact, he relished the affect his free speech was having. His right to speak, to not be shouted down, does not release him from the consequences of speaking freely.
Knowing the way he has done things to date, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to find out this was not only planned for, but even orchestrated by Trump's folks themselves. UIC students are not friendly to Trump at all. There is no shortage of venues for a rally like this and, truth be told, their pavilion is on the smallish side for the likes of Trump. He's quoted as saying they were expecting 30K people at the rally...I'd be suprised if you could safely get half that many in there.
Edited to add: Just checked...capacity is less than 7,000. Not exactly Trump-like. Just sayin.
I understand SRO will up that figure considerably, but still...

He still is outsmarting them all, his competition and Dem rivals. Free Press :rotflmao::rotflmao::rotflmao:

Meanwhile, if anybody else did that (if, in fact this was planned) the outcry would be deafening.

Gotta give the guy credit whether you agree with him or not, he has thus far outsmarted the best of them in the race.
Just think what he will do for trade and keeping companies here in the USA and bringing those back who left or moved a lot of their assets "Offshore".......... results JOBS for Americans

Nonsense. Trump does not represent the conservative party. He's a totalitarian monarchist who has absolutely no regard for our Constitution, it's that simple. I seriously doubt he can even put into layman's terms, and in order, what the first ten amendments to the Constitution are because he sure as hell as never mentioned the Constitution in his "debates." The only thing I hear him rambling on and on about is a bigger government rather than plans to reduce it. We've all seen the results of a bigger government with Bush's "Patriot Act" and the countless abuses of an out of control government that is beginning to turn on its own citizens. Surely you can this.
What I also find disturbing, is that so many of the masses on the so-called right are falling for this nutcase just as the masses on the left fell for Obama back in 08. Why? It's because people no longer read books about our history, people no longer care about their fellow man, nor do they get involved in local politics. Most people today, whether right or left, would rather stay at home and watch the latest "Dancing with the Stars" episode or the antics of some overpaid sports figure than attend a City Meeting or actually put pen to paper and write their elected officials. The closet thing to politics anyone gets involved with anymore is having a cold one---sitting in the recliner, and yelling at some news anchor who's dictating who one should vote for. History always repeats itself for the next tyrant to come along.
As far as a "revolution" coming? Will never happen. Americans no longer have the spine to organize let alone vote intelligently. I'm also vey well aware of Lenin's "Usefui Idiot" quote if in fact it was even him that said it. Anyway, the useful idiots we're seeing today are those who let a government controlled media dicate whether one votes for a candidate with an "R", or, "D" next to their name. Now exuse me while I go read Thomas Paine's "Common Sense."
Thanks for the info Jermanator. Curious as to what context was used. Will be watching it this morning on YouTube.
Ted and little Marco got on the bandwagon, as well.
Wonder how many Illegals and drug dealers were in the crowd. Bill Ayers was there too!

Nobody deserves to have their voice stifled in this way, but it's coming for everybody who won't bend over for socialism. Trump is the most vulnerable target, because of his political incorrectness. He can be tagged racist, and his off-the-cuff statements can be used as circumstantial evidence to support it. Whether it will hurt him in the nomination process, or help him, is unknown, but the goal of it is to knock him out in the general election. If he overreacts, which he is prone to do, it could work.
It won't make any difference at all for those of us who already know that Trump is not what he has been selling himself as. He is probably wishing right now that he had run as a Democrat, and avoided all of this.
Actually, there are a few things that can be done. One in particular is requiring any parts or materials used in American military materials to be made in the USA! There are lots of things used by our military that are made by American owned companies but manufactured elsewhere. You can blame NAFTA for that. One glaring example is the aircraft industry. I was working for General Dynamics at the time and knew several people whose wives worked in the harness shop which manufactured all of the wiring harnesses for the aircraft that we were manufacturing at the time. (primarily the F-16) For whatever reason, the harness shop was made up mostly of women and when NAFTA was signed, the entire shop was shut down and hundreds of people were laid off! This all happened within days of the signing! It seems General Dynamics already had a facility built and stocked with materials and employees in Mexico and the moment that NAFTA was signed, the manufacture of every electrical harness used in General Dynamics aircraft was shifted to Mexico! This is just one example and if you Google around, you can find quite a few military material manufacturing facilities in Mexico. A free enterprise system allows companies to make their goods wherever they want but the government isn't obligated to buy those goods. A government contract is almost a license to print money and I assure you that Lots of manufacturers would move back to the US in a heartbeat.
It is not a new concept. What do you think a king is?
A CEO answers to no one but his board of directors, much as a benevolent king answers to a board of regents. A smart king treats the peons well, to prevent revolt and keep his armies populated and motivated, but what happens when he croaks and his milquetoast son ascends to the throne, or some other less benevolent successor? The system has been put in place for a nice guy to run, but now a real horse's ass gets control and can exploit it for decades before the masses can muster the strength and courage to overthrow the king.
Maybe this is an exaggeration, but so is the assertion that a public servant is incapable of running a constitutional republic. A person who has served his constituents well and honestly, and has demonstrated his intelligence and integrity can find the experts to help him succeed, just as surely as a CEO can, and is much more tuned in to the needs of the populace. I like the idea of CEO's running government bureaucracies, but I don't want them to be the arbiters of what the Constitution says, or means.
