Had 132 combat mission, in WWII..........had Schilling Air Force Base named after him........and he like to tweak his 1911. :jester:

    I have a photo in a book of one converted to a hi-cap full auto in the 1930's by gangsters, bit I've not seen anything like that before.
    My thoughts are generally clear. My typing, not so much.

    He also had no issues with an arched mainspring housing.

    Is that adapted to full-auto fire?

    :usa: very impressive guy, didn't know about the 1911's.
    Looks very similar to a conversion done by a Texan named Lehman in the '30's, I think that's what you are thinking of Early, iirc he was prosecuted post NFA for illegally supplying them to Dillinger and others.
