I have several blades that are 154cm. They hold an edge well, and are easy enough to sharpen.

Great steel for a blade, I have several, the japs copied it and called it ATS-34

I need (want) a good stout knife. This one seems like it fits the bill. And the price is not bad. Good to know it is easy to sharpen. My S30V folders are great, but take quite a bit of effort to sharpen.

My Benchmade Griptilian 4" is 154CM steel, and that is it's best feature. I skinned, quartered, and used it for some of the butchering on two whitetails, with the edge that it came with, right out of the box. I hit it a few licks on a steel, and it was ready to go for another.

In other words, I highly recommend it for holding an edge.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil: For I carry a .308 and not a .270

That's a good looking knife. And in the same price range. I would like a little longer blade. Also looking for something with a flat spine.

The d2 steel is good it's just harder than a whores heart. You definitely want a diamond stone too sharpen it. What I've found if you let it get really dull it takes a it too get it back. They seem too hold an edge well if you keep them up

154CM/ATS-34 is my second favorite blade steel. SV-30 is the only one I've used I like better.
