    I have no preference when it comes to BBQ'd or smoked meat. I like it all equally. Just depends on my mood.

    I have no problems with either, but find back ribs easier to eat.

    Ribs are sort of like chicken wings- - - -lots of work for very little meat! If I'm going to go to the trouble to fire up the smoker it's going to get a Boston Butt!

    Agreed. I'll do that or a whole shoulder. I haven't done a whole pig because.... my smoker/grill won't accomodate a whole pig. Maybe a piglet/suckling...
    Overkill is underrated.

    I prefer spare ribs. More meat for the effort. Plus if I am cutting up my own pig I prefer bone in pork chop, which you can't have if you want baby back ribs.

    Very true, but if you are smoking a brisket, a couple chickens, or a pork but... Might as well throw in a few stacks of ribs to use up the rest of the space!

    Don't matter to me either but usually buy spare ribs (St. Louis style?).
