New Shooting Iron

Never mind the (boring) story of how I came upon this gun, but I recently let a safe queen go and in return I now possess this gem:

625-2 "Model of 1988" .45 ACP revolver

5" bbl

Factory Pachmyer grips

Based on my research this is from the first production year of the 625 .45 ACP

Hey congrats, I love my 625 model of 1988 I bought soon as one hit the shelf in the Rod n Gun Club back in 88 or 89 when I was stationed in Germany.

It only came with a few half moonies and I bought more from Ranch Products...Get The Tool to remove fired brass from full moon clips.

Very accurate and a pleasure to shoot both DA and SA. You will enjoy it.

The one on the left in this pic is mine.

That 5" bbl is just dandy, I wonder why more revolvers don't come in that length.

No chasing brass. I usually load all my clips up night before the range. Some call them pesky, depends because it is one fast reload, like a built in speed-loader. You will have to see if your reliably fires sans the spring clips, Ned's won't, mine will, but slow extraction.

    Fan-friggin'-tastic!

One day... a .45 acp will find its way into the safe and that is definitely on the the short list now.

    John Taffin

"Now it really gets radical. For the first time, an N-frame revolver is available with a five-inch heavy L-frame style barrel with a full underlug plus the added bonus of a rounded K-frame style butt. Both of these factors combine to provide even less felt recoil than is normally experienced by the mild shooting .45 ACP or .45 AR loadings. With these two factors, the 625-2 becomes more than a competition sixgun; it in fact becomes a revolver that comes as close to perfection as this writer has ever experienced in a defensive sixgun."

Remember that Remington 700 .308 with the bug ugly brake? I took some of the more expensive stuff off and sent it down the road.
