Poor Shootn' Tex!

So my girlfriend wanted to watch my dog Glen, hunt. On a gorgeous day, we walked some nice cover where she could comfortably tag along. Glen worked beautifully, and I shot poorly. Every piece of cover held a bird or 2 and I shot 1 for 4.....the only bright spot was she got to watch Glen chase down a running rooster. She also got to have a hen burst at her feet, and she didn't scream! Just a 'hoo ha' of excitement! I'm going back out today for redemption! It's so warm that Glen doesn't have many walks and the birds are scattered. Today I'll hunt all public land.

Congratulations! A nice rooster and a nice looking yellow lab. He looks thirsty, make sure he has water. Keep yer powder dry............robin

Been there, done that, on poor shooting days. It seems like sometimes, we come out of the gates nailing them on one shot, and other days, we can't buy a hit. You'll get redemption. Have fun!
