Elk gets revenge on hunter........................ even though it was dead!

I've seen some weird ways hunters have been injured, but this is new..........

A hunter in Oregon was impaled by an elk had had just killed after his ATV crashed over the weekend, sending him backward into the animal’s antlers, KATU reported.

Gary Heeter, 69, suffered the injury while trying to drive up steep terrain in the Maury Mountains on Saturday.

His hunting buddies called for help and administered first aid. They applied bandages to the wound to slow the bleeding.

When the first Crook County deputy arrived at the scene, Heeter was conscious, but he was fading and may have been going into shock.

Heeter was eventually flown by medical helicopter to a nearby hospital where he was listed in fair condition

It sounds like the ATV may have been the vengeful party.

Saw a pic. Looked like the weight of the whole, intact elk somehow flipped the quad over backwards. This would be the time to quarter your critter.
