Gen. Petraeus Now Pushing Gun Control.
Retired U.S. Army Gen. David Pet who has long resisted calls to run for political office, is teaming up with retired NASA astronaut Mark Kelly to create a new group urging greater gun control.

Very disappointing.

    He is reverting to his old Army Commanders mentality............one GI does something stupid, punish them all by making a command decision to order all of them not to do or have something so it won't happen again or not as often.

    He sure didn't have any trouble finding and using his "Gun Fer Fun" did he. Followed the wrong leader.

    I guess I am the only one that finds it ironic that Trump is considering the general for Sec State. Petraeus found guilty on the whole classified thingy, while Trump ran on Hilary being inexcusable for that whole classified thingy. But we know Petraeus was railroaded and she is a D so that's all OK. And of course he is a gun grabber to boot. One would think he would not even be considered and certainly not a finalist. In trump we trust.:roll:

    Picking Patraeus would indeed be very hypocritical. I think Trump just likes the attention of having lots of important people come to Trump Tower and try to appease him in order to get a job. My guess is that Corker or Romney will be Secretary of State.

    I posted an article a while back on his support of gun control measures. I no longer remember the context, but he was a vehement supporter of a Clinton-style "assault weapon" ban.
    Accuracy: because white space between bullet holes drives me insane.

    I'm with you. Unless Trump accomplishes something extraordinary I am not a fan. Hillary as POTUS and Bill as the First Philanderer was unthinkable.

    Read an article that pointed out that Petraeus DID plead to a misdemeanor charge and is currently on probation. If he got the job as SecState, he'd have to request permission from his probation officer to move out of North Carolina, and would have to get permission to go on every out of state and out of country trip he went on for the duration of his probation.

    Be kinda odd, though. And I'm sure it would set some sort of precedent.... "I pardoned Gen. Petraeus so he could fulfill his job duties..."
