My new scope is here

TurdusMerulaTurdusMerula Posts: 362 Member
It took a few turns but now my newest toy is here. I remember how I dreamed of owning a Zeiss in my earlier hunting years but couldn't afford one. Actually it's pretty darn close even today that I couldn't afford it as it's a huge investment for me. However my hunting will be so active with moose and deer so I decided to bite the bullet and eat more some porridge. It will (hopefully) last my life time. Can't wait for the next season.

Those buttons on the back end for a illuminated reticle?

It is a good looking scope.

That is very nice... you will be happy with quality in the long run.

It would be a lot more painful to spend less, have a failure, lose an animal, etc. and have to replace or fix a less expensive product, spending additional time and money. Enjoy it every time you look through it.

Is it a Zeiss Conquest? or is it an original Zeiss?

It's a Zeiss Conquest DL. Those are "made in Germany" series instead of "assembled in Germany" so I reckon it's original Zeiss.

Yeah, on/off and power of illumination. Dot is strong enough for daylight use too. And can be dimmed stepless to zero light so it is very usable in darkness too.

It's really nice Turdus. I want a Conquest. They are within my price range. I had a friend who back in the 80s went plum stupid and bought a German Zeiss, a Schmit Undt Bender and a Sworovsky over a couple years. He said he was curious as to which would be the clearest I looked through all of them and they were really really clear. But that Zeiss I'll never forget It was just so damn clear. Hell all three were clear. I will have one someday.

I guess it's supposed to wake up memories from the summertime fields. Here in Europe you can hunt in many countries roe deer bucks during the summertime. For us in Finland we can hunt them from 15th of May to 15th of June. :applause:

LOL, that explains a lot, the joke in MN is that Finnlander deer season starts after the 4th of July, the rest of us mortals cannot hunt deer until the first weekend in November:jester:

Summertime hunting is only for roe deer bucks. White tail deer season is 24.9.-31.1

That is one beautiful scope Turdus. That is a real investment.
