dan wesson 1911 Patriot, need sights

KMT2KMT2 Posts: 373 Member
This pistol is an odd duck. 1911 but dan wesson had to put a spin on the dove tails for the sights.
I remember seeing a web page fro new sights and such.
does anyone know where or what it is.
It was a special page for odd sights. not with the usual suspects.
I was hoping to be able to push new ones on , but if not have Calieb work the bases of a few for fitting.
If you think OHSA is a little town in Wisconsin you may be in trouble!

They are B0-Mar (style?) sights aren't they, I think my DW Poitman 7 wears those.

Are you kidding me.......went up a 1000 bucks since I got mine back in 03/04............$550 dealer cost anyway. Great guns, but no way Jose worth this much.

CZ USA screwed folks when their prices doubled almost overnight when they took over DW. Don't care what anybody says....they took a great well made gun with a lot of built in bells and whistles and decided they could stick it to consumers.

Hey Wizard. We usually cover up SN# of guns and don't normally post the digits either. Up to you and of course I've forgotten why, except may lead to confiscation by gun police and/or some nefarious types might try and say you stole it even though you have a BOS. It isn't done, may be outdated these days.............heck some estranged husband might try and say his wife sold his guns during a divorce and come after them or you both.

doesnt mean some puppy that just got banned wont report a 1911 stolen and he just saw it on the interwebs. Maybe you can take a few days off to prove that you did get it where you did and the LGS I am sure has extra time to pull the paperwork ect ect ect.
It's boring, and your lack of creativity knows no bounds.

    Holy crap.

There's a 1972 6" Colt Python with original box listed on Armslist for less than that Pointman.

the only endearing thing about Michigan requiring the use of a purchase permit and have to turn the permit in is that you have a direct document that the gun was purchased by you, and that even if a person wanted to purchase it from you requires the purchase permit of the buyer as well and that they need to file in the permit when the purchase was doen. It is a for of registration  but it does make it a bit hard for anyone to say your collection is theirs, and would require them to come up with the paperwork to challenge it.

I think the xxxx for serial numbers is answering to a myth.  I've never heard of someone falsely claiming theft of a gun from the serial number, and gun trading boards routinely do not try to hide them.  Doesn't hurt, though.
