    Those 70 FW's are cute little numbers. Had one on the rack when I worked the LGS in . . .243, as I recall, that whispered my name for a long time. Never happened - was more of a heavy-target guy than a game chaser at the time.

    I've eyeballed those for years. Never came to terms with their price.

    But, I suspect that rig will serve you well.

    While looking for a more reasonably sized scope, I found the Meopta at a great price and couldn't pass it up. It will almost certainly end up on my M700 after Remington replaces the trigger.

    If you don't need top tier glass, consider a Leupold Rifleman. It's perfectly sized and balanced on my 60's Rem 700 .243Win.

    Biggest gripe about the Rifleman is the turrets are frictional, not retained by clicks.
