It goes without saying, I feel I owe any mod at least a beverage of their choice, more like dinner on me, should I get the chance. Nicely done.

If they show up at a SE shoot, I'll buy them a seafood dinner.:tooth:

Hopefully next year, we can get them a beverage and some dinner.

Can you take a picture with it where it's supposed to sit? I'm having trouble picturing it.

It's sort of round on the bottom to fit in the sight channel, and thin above that to fit in the sight slot. Spring on, I think, left side, and screw on right positions sight(screw fits in hole the fat part of the bottom of the sight slides into). It's one of those that you need either exact dimensions or the broken remains in the picture to make.

I've looked all over the 'net in every place I can Google, and I came up with no sight blade or sight assembly. Lots of other parts but the sight blade or sight assembly is just not available.

Had to make one once, for a similar firearm sight blade, and I did it by making it in two pieces and silver soldered them together after milling a tiny channel in the bottom part with a carbide dental burr to hold the blade. I failed at making a one piece blade. It could probably be done, but I took the easy (for me) way out.

Edited to add: "for a similar firearm sight blade". I can't remember now what it was for or for who I did it. It was a long time ago. And it was NOT for a Taurus, but the sight was similar.

I would epoxy a piece of sheet metal into the groove and file a very narrow notch in it with a jeweler's needle file. Adjust the POI by widening the notch one direction or the other until it hits minute of scumbag at powder burn distance.

Now this is my kinda thunkin', but the problem is I would apply this style to everything I work on from Taurus to Weatherby. That's why I don't do my own metal work on guns. Some guns don't deserve your best efforts, some do.

DESPERATELY need a picture of the rear sight parts you have including the rear sight that is broken, END VIEW. The replacement part is not available anywhere I can find. It's pretty impossible to give you help on this without that information. I can't find a decent exploded view of the Taurus 99 AF to give me any idea of what those parts look like. It appears to be pretty similar to the S&W J,K,L,N frame revolver sight blade.

If you can give an end view of the broken sight, and dimensions of lower part and sight blade thickness, and height, I can tell if the S&W parts are adaptable.

Here's the S&W sight blade and parts on the Brownell's website. IF it is similar to this one you may be able to make it work.

Picture of the place where it goes and partially in. Take that statement with you to the Turkish prison.

Cocked and unlocked. Not a safe picture except the magazine was removed and chamber empty. Yes I checked twice.

Have you tried a S&W blade? Looks exactly like it.

Which model S & W? The sight blade is threaded inside and you can see the additional parts in the background.

Well, that second picture answers the ONE question for which I needed an answer. The sight blade is on the BACK of the round piece, not in the middle. A S&W replacement blade pack wouldn't work. A new one could be made, though. CPJ is on the right track with it as to making a new one. To make it as one piece would take some flat stock the thickness of the rounded slide piece, and some milling and filing/sanding, but it could be done in a few hours.

It came to light that Rocketman was actually our old friend Ghostsniper sneaking back in after being banned twice before. That's why he was banned.

Talk about De Ja Vu, there was something about him that made me take pause. I was just talking about him the other day to somebody. Seriously Rocketman was no Missile Scientist either. He had a lot to say but nothing to prove it. Maybe he seemed smarter this time because he might not have been drinking and his head cleared. If your head stays in the tank from Alcohol or any kind of mind altering drug, it can make you dull witted. I know this from personal experience. However I have noticed too that alcohol does different things to different people. Some are happy drunks, some mean. Some just get dull witted and mope in the corner til they pass out. I'm not anti alcohol. If you can handle it, more power to you, Enjoy. But if you know you can't, and you will know this, get help and stay away from it.
