Why is it we have to get news like this from the U.K.?!?!?

Ya never see something like this on CNN, and rarely on Fox.

The State of Oklahoma just saved millions of dollars...

Not stand your ground as a cop said, but probably the Castle Doctrine as one pointed out in comments in the link I posted.

Looks justified and then some to me. Shame young lives had to be taken, but there are consequences to home invasions and they met them.

I wonder if our stalwart defender of home and hearth stopped to think, "if only I had a flintlock musket instead of this AR15," and then, realizing he was facing 3 invaders, "I'd give anything for a 10 round magazine instead of this 30 rounder."

SamW always claimed the chance of facing multiple attackers was just a fantasy. All in our imaginations.

This popped up on one of the local news Twitter feeds...first response:

"Jesus. He had to kill them?"

    Followed by:
"Leave shooting as the last resort...What kids wouldn't leave at gunpoint? No need to shoot."

That's Left Coast Seattle mentality for you...

Masks, weapons...it wasn't a burglary...it's armed robbery at that point, a violent crime.

The fat girlfriend has a Hispanic-sounding name. Want to bet the dead ones are NOT named O'Malley, Silverstein, Smith, or Brown? Chances are they don't have a valid Social Security number, either!

I love your state, and at times I wish I could move back out there. Then I read stuff like that and am glad I will only ever be back for a visit.

Calling the shot ones "Victims" is not right, Perps would be a better word.

Oklahoma home invasion shooting: 3 victims broke into property earlier that day

Really? Kidding me? You can bet the farm that if our stalwart defender had not killed these feral miscreants, they would have returned again when no one was home ... to steal the rifle! Along with whatever else they originally came for. Criminals who live to steal another day, usually do.

I have no qualms about the fate of these thugs, and I am perfectly willing to live without any contribution any of them might have ever made to society or mankind. We don't need everybody, least of all, the likes of them.

Ditto on the word "victims"- - - -unless maybe they were victims of their own stupidity and greed. They had actually broken into the SAME property earlier that day and burglarized an attached apartment. This time they were coming back to hit the main residence. Wrong move!

Not really. The phrase I like to use is "Dead before they bred", or made a lengthy career of it with a long string of victims. Mr. Darwin put his time in here.:up:

Hmmmm- - - - -what part of "Let's attack this guy holding an AR- - - - -we've got knives and brass knuckles!" makes good nonsense? That sheriff's quote from awhile back "Stuck on Stupid" sort of comes to mind here!

    Play stupid games...

I have said it many times that stories like this will eventually deter casual criminals. Unfortunately these stories will also serve to prepare more ardent criminals and their tactics will be much harder to defend against.
