"Fruit of a poisonous tree"- - - - -etc. I wonder how many other episodes of abuse by those two went unreported? Apparently there had been some previous interaction between the kid and the jerk who punched him, but then his supervising sergeant got involved, with the kick. Maybe they could start up a tag team wrestling venue now that they're no longer hiding behind badges.

Ever notice how Gene refuses to watch any of the videos of abuse that get posted? Maybe he needs to change his handle to "Ostrich"!

I figured that way, he could honestly claim that he has never seen any evidence of the abuse that people talk about.

I don't watch violent reality videos.

Fruits of the poison tree is a concept that's most often applied to items seized in a search that is held to be illegal.*

The officers' credibility has been destroyed and they would be an embarrassment to the prosecution and the agency. Both of them had use of force complaints against them on more than one occasion.

I was in the biz 32 years and never had a Use of Force complaint. So far as I know, the agency I last worked for never had a complaint filed against the Office of the Sheriff.

There is the possibility there was a racial element involved since the two accused ex-officers are white and the victim is black.

*an "illegal search" is one where the appeal court rules either the warrant was not sufficient or there was not probable cause. This has to be determined by a judge or a judicial panel.

You didn't police the millennials, I assume? I had a use of force complaint for a routine handcuffing. HANDCUFFING. Compliant suspect, simple handcuffing.

A little handcuff rubbing from sitting in the back of the car and they alleged I intentionally injured their wrist.

Whiners get first pick of allegations.

Same for where I live but each day a venture to more urban areas for work, groceries, gas, etc where LEOs (city police and deputies). Without a LEO presence there would be a spike in breakins, robbery, car theft and so on. Don't kid yourself into thinking LEOs taking a week or even a day would not lead to trouble ... maybe not at rural homes but think of many cities (Fayetteville, Durham, Greensboro, Charlotte, etc) with an epidemic of blue flu ...

This is ONLY because of the "sheep" mentality of most city dwellers, and often the laws that make it difficult for them to arm themselves. Make it clear that they're on their own, and you would soon see them become as self reliant as most urban inhabitants.

Ever seen a 14 year old girl kick a 6'3" 200 pound officers knee sideways and medically retire him after only 7 years of service because he was too easy on her?

    I have.

This sort of incident happens all the time, but gets no media attention.

Being drunk, or female, does NOT give you the right to do something that a larger non drunk male cannot do without the expectation of possibly being taken to the ground hard in order to minimize the officer's risk.
