    Pffft.
We have derailed a thread with the second post.

I have seen OPs derail their own thread in the OP.

My very first Belly Dance teacher was a tall, willowy blonde - she was a couple of inches taller than I am and I'm 5 foot 12 inches. Anyway, she knew *ALL* the blonde jokes!

Naw, just 4 foot, 24! I once inherited a dance skirt that had been passed around the local Belly Dance sisterhood until it came my way. It was almost "empire waist" in length - ON ME. I can only assume that it originally belonged to the afore mentioned teacher originally - not only was she taller than I am, but her legs were a lot longer. I'm long in the torso and short in the legs for my height - which actually is a good thing as far as Belly Dance goes! In any event, I cut the skirt down and still have it.

Making a rest part last night, I drilled a piece of round stock through the middle what for tapping it. Wrote down ALL my dimensions. Stared with a a stub length bit, knew I was just shy of making it deep enough with that bit. No problem, switch to a longer bit. Which I did. Even double checked things. How I ended up 1/4"-ish short....I'll never know. Guess I should have checked the hole depth whilst drilling.
Since I already tapped one half RH, and the other half will be LH, I've only got one option and that's chucking it back up and hoping I can make the holes meet. Shouldn't be an issue, and really shouldn't matter of I'm a fuzz off.
Side note, GOOD taps are worth EVERY PENNY. And in reality, good Merican made taps aren't any more expensive than Chinese excrement. I had trouble threading 1/2" worth of steel with the Lowes special taps, like I thought I would break it trouble. I'd get 1/4 turn on the tap, have to back up and go again. With the good tap I ran it the full length of the tap, and only broke chips when I felt like it.
Talk about changing a thread subject. Wow!
