Pigeon hunting continues

Weather forecast says that there's thunder storm with huge rains will hit us this evening. So you have to go to hunt some pigeons in the morning, of course. It was a beautiful early, late summer morning when you can feel that fall is getting closer every day.
I was for the first time hunting pigeons in the same area where we hunt deers and moose. Nice fields were shovering in the golden light. Not too much birds in the air but got something at least. Total of eight bird's breasts in the fridge at the moment. Makes a nice meal for me and my family.
Lovely morning in the nature with my father. And my Winchester 1400 I bought in -93 keeps function flawlessly even with lighter bird loads. Hopefully I'll find some time for a few bird hunts before the deer season opens in three weeks.

We don't have 'wild' pigeons over here, at least where I live, although they do sometimes gang up on the grain fields north of my locale. There are plenty in the cities, but not so much in rural areas.

The wood pigeon in your link looks similar in size to the collared dove we see in west Texas. They are slower flying than a mourning dove and are not considered game animals here, but are legal to shoot without counting as part of the bag limit. For this reason, I target them when hunting mourning doves, because they taste just as good
