HR 38/SB 446 national reciprocity
HR 38/SB 446 the national CCW reciprocity bills are going to be up for debate/vote in congress in September. Everyone and their friends ,relatives ect. needs to contact their Congressman/Senators and have them vote for them and keep out any junk that will hurt gun ownership. This may be the only chance we have to get it past
so we need to go all out on this one.
Meanwhile the usual suspect are opposing it Blasio of NYC and Emmanuel of Chicago. Some PRC police chief are against it. Note: The mayors of NYC and Chicago both go around with almost Presidential level security and after they leave office they still get police protection!?

Of course not! Always try! Try hard! And if first we don't succeed, try, try again! Start by defeating RINOs and nominating patriots in the upcoming primaries before the 2018 general election. In my case, here in AZ, I'm a volunteer in Dr. Kelli Ward's campaign to replace Senator Jeff Flake. She's a bona fide conservative. Yessiree, I'm trying!
However, regarding HR38/SB446, don't expect a miracle this first time around with the losers we have running the Congress. Just sayin'.
I've contacted my reps and stressed the need for clean bills. If there are negative riders, both need to die before passage.

No there isn't. It is implied...

Yes, the National Reciprocity bill isn't perfect - it provides that travelers will have to obey local laws when carrying concealed, and yes that will still be a pain-in-the-ass over issues like magazine capacity, when and where allowed, stand-your-ground vs. obligation-to-retreat, and so forth, but it is undeniably an improvement over the haphazard legal goulash we face today, where just crossing some state lines with a gun can land you in prison for years.
The fatal flaw of conservatism is its impatience. The Left is content to advance its agenda incrementally - "2 steps forward 1 step back" works for them. But the Right repeatedly shoots itself in the foot by making the perfect the enemy of the good. A candidate isn't ideologically pure, so conservatives stay home on election day. A bill isn't everything we want, all at once, right now, so we find fault and end up losing it altogether. Patience is a virtue, moderation in all things, good things come to those who wait. Time is on the side that knows best how to use it.
Take a page from the book of Ronaldus Magnus - a man who's with you 80% of the time is an ally not an enemy. Take the 80%...and work on the other 20% later. I support the Nat Rec bill. If nothing else, it sets up the "laboratory of the states," and that great experiment will prove that people who carry aren't the problem. That fact alone will impress lots of voters, and that might convince some legislators and governors to positively modify their states' anti-gun laws on their own.
Typo. A and S are right next to each other. My bad. I fixed it. THANKS!
My Democrat congressman, Dan Kildee invented the Land Bank concept years ago. It has really helped our screwed up community of Flint, Michigan and is making a big difference in Detroit-- it actually is stopping the bleeding of our communities! I grudgingly support him and am very critical of his Democratic partisan crap-- I do what I can. Senators? While being an enthusiastic supporter of Donald Trump makes me automatically assume that a person has poor judgement, I am going to give Robert Ritchie a pass. He is running for senator against Debbie Stabenow in Michigan next year. He has been honored by the NAACP Detroit chapter, and has a local reputation as a very down to earth, stand up guy.
I will support Ritchie and he will support this legislation. I will urge Kildee to do the same. Senator Gary Peters? I can send him something, but I am probably wasting my time. I doubt our president gives a crap-- he just said he supports 2A to get your vote. He cares only about himself.
Just look at the motorcycle helmet laws and you'll realize that states "don't have to" loose control. When I decide to ride through states that require a helmet, I wear one. In the same way, if I carried in a state that restricted magazine capacity to 10 rounds, I would switch to a low capacity mag and still be able to defend myself or not get arrested for just transitioning through with my handgun. Compromising a little on our end gets the bills passed and then we can work on the idiocy of restrictions in states like CA, NY, NJ, CT, etc. etc. I believe in taking giant steps but if taking baby steps can save me a lot of grief and at the same time we can keep working on making our stride longer, I can live with that.

If it passes, I'm happy to sell you my California magazines. I have a few ten rounders in G19 & 22, XD45, Mini-14, and maybe a couple more. I can't give the things away!

The hearing protection act will also be up for debate later this month
We do have some advantages this time around there are Republicans who are worried they might get shot by Antifa and there are democrats who are worried that Alt-Right might shoot them. So they might be interested in being able to carry concealed in order to save their behinds.
The same people in NYS who complain about people with CCWs need to remember Donald Trump had a near impossible to get NYC CCW! for many years and nobody complained about this. I would also like to point out that Trumps two oldest sons are avid hunters and gun owners. national reciprocity would make their lives easier and also keep them out of jail if they take a wrong turn ect.

As long as the RINO's can sing the "castrato" parts in the church choir, that ain't gonna happen. The vast majority of the career "republicans" haven't got enough testosterone among the whole bunch to make even one of their flagpoles stand up and get a salute!

Yeah, when the Speaker of the House is a fanboy for ANTIFA, that isn't a good sign.

On the BATFE wiki page it points out about 75% of all the people the BATFE arrests have no criminal record. I should also point out have no criminal intent and most don't realize they are breaking the law! one wonders why many gun owners don't like this agency.
