Should Yale University be renamed?

Here are some interesting facts about Yale's benefactor and namesake, Elihu Yale- - - - - - -If there's a statue of him anywhere, it might be a good idea to call in the cranes and sledgehammers!

There are many references in the Old Testament about the handling of slaves...
This is already a priority and has nothing to with slavery.

"Apparently, student Ryan Swanson admitted to discarding the banana peel in a tree after he was unable to locate a garbage can, and it was later spotted by Alpha Kappa Alpha President Makala McNeil, who leads one of the campuses historically black sororities.
"The overall tone was heavy. I mean, we were talking about race in Mississippi and in the Greek community so there’s a lot involved,” McNeil recalled, later adding that she and her friend were all just sort of paranoid for a second” after spotting the banana.
After word of the banana spread throughout the retreat, leaders decided to end the event early. Arndt explained that she “felt it was imperative to provide space immediately to students affected by this incident.”
The future is here.
Initially I thought your post was some tongue in cheek humor about the frailty of today's youth until I read the link. We really are doomed. I thought the I was reasonably aware of current trends but is there some symbolism with a banana peel that I an unaware of?
Me, never!
Humour..................... perhaps? :tooth:
Though Makala seems awfully troubled, there there pet;

"My sorority sister was the first to see it. We – myself, my sister and another NPHC member – were heading back to our cabins after our large group session was dismissed. As we approached the cabin, she abruptly stopped. Her eyes widened. Her jaw dropped. She frantically pointed at a tree, exclaiming, “Look! Look! In the tree!”
It was a banana, dangling from a limb.
My heart dropped instantly. I began to scan the area around us to see if we were in any immediate harm. Once we realized we were alone, questions started flying: “Was this here this morning?”
“There’s no coincidence that this happened right after we just got done talking about race, right?” “Why would someone put it in a tree? There’s a trashcan a few feet away.”
My sister took a picture of the banana and sent it to other NPHC members, most of whom responded with immediate urgency. For most black participants, the image of the banana in the tree was jarring, an overt sign that we weren’t welcome."
But be not afeard.
As always, with our "special relationship", we are attempting to join you in your madness.
"Not so Cool Runnings: Four revellers who 'blacked up' to look like Jamaican bobsleigh team during Welsh carnival are investigated by police for racism...."

"In a post on Facebook, Labour candidate Dinah Mulholland said she was 'utterly horrified' by the float. She added: 'How could this have been considered acceptable, or even legal, by the carnival organisers?...............There may have been no conscious agenda or racist intent towards involved people of African or Caribbean heritage in the Cool Runnings float............But there is no doubt that offence has been caused and that there is a danger that, unchallenged, such behaviour makes casual racism seem okay."
In a positive light;
"Aberaeron carnival was yet again absolutely fantastic and all that took part should be immensely proud.
To try to turn, what was seen by most as people dressing as fictional characters into a row on racism for your own political gain is pathetic and has seemingly backfired.
The only thing that has been achieved here is actually encouraging hate....mainly towards the Labour Party!.............
And Mandy Selcon added: "Omg sense of humour failure! Can someone please inform the police that this woman has had her sense of humour stolen!"
My guess would be they thought it was a monkey reference. Only thing I can come up with.

After reading the second article, that's what they referenced but that is 1960's stuff and this is 2017.
Yes I know. It is also a banana or banana peel they lost their damn minds over.

Hell, in the Bible everybody who was anybody, except maybe Jesus, owned slaves. And there is no mention in the Bible of him condemning it, that I know of.

I don't think it's just the Old Testament.

DHS has finally got of their dead rear ends and onto their dying feet and labeled ANTIFA as domestic terrorists, and are busy taking names of leaders and members. Maybe they'll crack down on them, or maybe the American people will get fed up and do what we used to do when rats infested the corn crib.

Not to get off-topic ...
If you really do some research, slaves in the Bible are treated WAY better than what Americans and others did back when. WAY better. God does not outlaw slavery; he certainly gave the Jews (and Christians, because the New Testament has a lot to say concerning the master/slave relationship. In fact the book of Philemon is all about a slave being admonished to return to his master, both of whom had subsequently gotten saved) very strong rules about it however.
Furthermore, Christians are, in many places, referred to as the slaves of God. Though he brings us into a father/child relationship, we nevertheless ought to obey him with the submission and dedication of a slave who loves his master. After all, everything we have we received from him.
And then I found five dollars! The end!

If one is a paranoid schizophrenic about racism, then EVERYTHING JUST REEKS of racism. Hence the banana peel in the tree being racist.

Trump's working on that and making progress. Once we get all the lying bastards locked up this memo revealed, he'll most likely have smooth sailing.

According to Paul, Jesus accepted slavery ...
1Tim 6:1-3 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness ...
For those who need the above translated into English, the Bible in Basic English (BBE) reads the above as follows ...
Let all who are servants under the yoke give all honour to their masters, so that no evil may be said against the name of God and his teaching. And let those whose masters are of the faith have respect for them because they are brothers, working for them the more readily, because those who take part in the good work are of the faith and are dear. Give orders and teaching about these things. If any man gives different teaching, not in agreement with the true words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the teaching which is in agreement with true religion ...
