First day of whitetail season is over

It seems that my luck is still with me. Today whitetail season started here in Finland. After the work I drove to our hunting area and picked up my father too. Weather was nice. Sunny and temperature around 63 deg F. My father went to the other end of the hay field and I took another end.
After about three hour waiting I saw one doe coming to field. I waited to be sure it didn't have any fawns with her. After a while I was sure she is alone. Send TTSX on it's way and saw immediately that it hit hard and everything is over for the doe. After 15-20 seconds she fell to the ground. And then I saw fawn coming to check out the noise from the thick young forest. Too small to be left alone. Distance is about 170 yards. Another bullet on it's way and I knew it was a good shot.
Packed my things and went for the doe in the field. Entry wound were exactly were I wanted it to be. Right behind the shoulder. Left my stuff there and went to search for the fawn. A lot of blood and pieces of lungs every other yard. Still it had managed to run about 60 yards.
I was so pleased that I could take it away after it showed itself too late. Too perfect shots and meat to the freezer. This is a good starting point for the season.
