Vietnam era question

In the late 60's or early 70's, there was a photo of a well known news man arriving in Vietnam. As he deplaned, he was wearing a sidearm. Very cowboy ish. Do any of you remember the photo and who it was?

I doubt it was Galloway. This was more of a grandstanding shot. I wouldn't expect him to do that. The problem is, I know the photo existed but, with the power of the internet, I can't find a copy of it. That makes me wonder whether or not it was intentionally erased.

My neighbor was in Vietnam same time as that. He was with the Marines at Khe Sanh when they were assaulted in July. He was an M-60 machine gunner. Got some interesting stories of his tour over there. He has NOTHING good to say about the M-16 jam-o-matic that the Marines had to deal with.

Joe Galloway would be my bet. He wasn't the normal journalist over there. There were actually several journalists traveling with the troops that ended up picking up a weapon in a firefight and returning fire. Joe was one of them. If anyone would do something like that, I'd put my money on it being him.
