These were the eaters from the first night.
The non-eaters got thrown in the trash dump at the ranch. Some guts had been placed 300 yards from the ranch house with a 4lb bottle of Tannerite with the hope a yote would come to dinner. Well, right before dusk, no yote had taken the invite. So, we decided to pull the big boar out of the trash pig and lay him on the bottle of Tannerite.
Backed off about 80 yards and shot the bottle with my LR-308.
The big "chunk" you see flying to the right in the video is the pigs HEAD!
Which flew however far that was you saw in the video.
His back leg(s) flew away from us and were obscured in flight by the smoke.
His mid section...............well..........there were so many pieces scattered about.............
And the resulting crater was about a foot deep.
I have seen these videos on YouTube. They don't compare to the real thing in person. It. Was. AWESOME!!!

One of which was with my new LR-308 with 168gr TAP AR at about 200 yards.
Nope. Just the head.
My buddy shot an axis buck in the head this weekend, and one of the antlers popped off and flew 3 feet away

That little piggy didnt go to market......he went into the scrub....down the road.....climbed some trees........all at the same time!
Good haul of 'eaters'. Bet the rancher was happy.
Regarding the doe, ya gotta love those head shots........Where's the pic of the exit wound?
Interesting thing I have noticed with head shots that cause the eyes to bulge out........The optic nerve must be quite strong as I have never seen an eye completely pop out with a severed nerve. I have seen them pop out and hang by the nerve on the deers cheek though.

Resident buzzard to new arrival buzzard: "I love these guys! They're WACKY!" (lifts off from limb and flies toward chunks)
New arrival buzzard: (Wide-eyed shock, long, confirming stare, shrugs) "Well alright then" (lifts off from limb and flies toward chunks)

You gotta remember these are Texas Deer, they're just tough! But they still die,:jester:
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.
I took an 80 lb boar that was holed up by a dog with my Glock 22 and a magazine of Silvertips three weeks ago. A double tap, one just above between the eyes and a second slightly to the right didn't kill that boar. It was stunned, but still angry and dangerous. It required a back of the skull coup de gras. They are tough critters!

Just curious.
Gun control laws make about as much sense as taking ex-lax to cure a cough.
Yes.
And add “smell” the the equation.
