    I don't really like bringing this thread back........and haven't really "seriously" bear hunted since.
    The arm chair quarterback in me did figure out a few things that may have made the outcome better.
    This is how you would go.
    Zee would just use a knife.

    A friend of mine in Alaska said he drew a Kodiak bear tag for fall. Really excited, apparently they are hard to get.

    He said he may use his Marlin 45-70 GS and casting up some bullets with his 535 grain mold to use.
