Yeah...meant to ask...what's the story with all the non-native critters running loose?
Areas of south and central TX are covered with exotic game ranches where people can go on “safari” without leaving the continental US. There are certain game animals that have a larger population in Tx than they do in the native habitat- even to the point of one animal (name escapes me right now) that is not on the endangered list because of the non- native herd in Texas is so large.
And- because they are non- native, they are considered either livestock or varmints by the Parks and wildlife department. Can be harvested with no limits, season or restriction on means.
To make something simple is a thousand times more difficult than to make something complex.

Looks like he's getting serious about growing antlers this year
I saw a buck a couple days ago whose antlers were in the same stage of growth. Except they were already past the tips of the ears. He'll be a big one...... if he can stay off of the road long enough
