Make Ernest T. Bass head of school security.

As I recall, a single smooth, round river rock worked perfectly once.  That was several thousand years ago, though, and the rock slinger had a bit of divine guidance on his side.

I wonder if you could keep a sling shot in your hip pocket to go with those rocks.  With a little practice, it would be a lot better than simply throwing one.

Kinda reminds me of the ole cliche 'You wouldn't know what to do with it if you had it in front of you, you gonna throw rocks at it........."

Meaning anything from a naked woman to whatever..................

I'm not channeling Sam, just noticed NN's spelling.  It's a bit peculiar for him.  Especially when he uses the proper American spelling in the body of his OP.

When you get a little bit of age, your spelling goes with your legs and your eyesight. I came in second in a pretty big spelling bee, in the fifth grade - now I am screwed without spell check (or ask my 5th grade grand daughter).

Spelling left me without telling me. One day I just realized I didn't have a clue! And I still had my legs and eyesight at that point, so we may have had it all wrong on what was the first thing to go with age...

It's not just that, Bream.  I've noticed you've been doing it a lot lately.  Mostly wondering why.

We need Armadillo, Rodeo Clown, Bulldoggers.

If guns aren't being allowed in schools then we need armored personnel who aren't afraid to mix it up.

School staff that would kit-up and charge into the fray then deliberately become the target of the active shooter.

If possible, he would then Bulldog the shooter and go hand-to-hand or use a knife. Obviously, this job wouldn't be for the old and enfeebled.

If they can't shoot back at least give the staff a chance to fight back!

Hmm.  I hadn't noticed that. I'm not disputing what you said, just hadn't noticed my doing it.

NN's use of a British spelling just kinda tickled me. Also surprised Shush hadn't picked up on it.
    Meh.

...and this is the reason I'm willing to make a statement about NN's use of spelling.  He doesn't get hurt over such things, but instead will usually take it in stride and do something smart-alecky.....

With a reinforced door, one of these should give (non-Broward County Sheriff’s Dept) officers time to neutralize the threat.

Seriously, how expensive would it be to reinforce the doors on every classroom.?

Yeah, none of that Coward County LEO stuff. And don't show up with that goofy, libtard Sheriff of theirs.

Didn't the physical education classes in 1930's Germany include grenade-throwing practice?  A story I read that was written by an American who was a student in one of those schools said he couldn't figure out why lobbing a ball in a high arc was so exhausting that the kids doing it had to fall down afterwards.  He figured it out years later when he had to face those same kids in close quarters combat.

    Chinese university hosts 'grenade-throwing' contest

A Chinese university has decided to liven up its annual sports day by hosting a grenade-tossing event, it's reported.

According to the China Youth Daily newspaper, the North University of China in the city of Taiyuan, northern Shanxi province, has decided to introduce a "500-gram grenade toss" to its track and field event in May.

I say, use Rock River for defense, this model even comes with a poly frame, which is sure to please the lady teachers, for its light weight.
    {Yes, I know that I am being too clever with the name, but still, let them have .45's or 9mm's or .38's.}
Telling someone use a bucket of rocks for defense, is foolish.
