Anzac Day.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn;
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

Got a charter this morning. Will be heading down the harbour as the sun rises. Got the same crew who remember their losses and pay tribute to their memory. We will stop at the entrance of the river, have a minutes silence and then the above words are spoken.
Always sends chills up my spine as the words echo off the hills.

Still enjoying the trip of a lifetime and making the best of what I have.....

    Went the day well?
    We died and never knew.
    But, well or ill,
    Freedom, we died for you.
    Went the day well?
    When you go home,
Tell them of us and say,
    “For your tomorrows,
    These gave their todays”

I wish they played that mini-series "Anzacs" more often on TB. It's in PAL so no bueno on most players. I always try to remember which makes me want to make Anzac biscuits.

Just sub in normal flour, and I use cold butter and water as I like chewy cookies. Mine don't need to survive the 3 months trip to Europe on the WW1 front.

"All gave some; some gave all."  As long as we remember those who fought, they live on in our memories. It's only proper that we set aside at least one day to remember them, and what they sacrificed for us, who are alive because of them.

Not forgetting Alec - not hardly.  I warmed this one up on August 4, 2014.  Planning to do the same November 11,2018, along with a few other appropriate items.

The ANZACs are some of my favorite Allies. I know they will always hold their end. The world is a better for place for having men and women such as them.
