Home a few minutes ago. Popup showers all the way to Monteagle Mountain, and then it was hot and sunny the rest of the way home. Lots of Smokies, county mounties, and city kitties passing out donation slips for the state, counties, and cities on 64, I-24, and 1-75. Making hay while he sun shines, or not!

Thanks for posting this, Elvan, Sue and Eddie are also home safe and sound....I'll be watching for everyone to post.

Sorry we didn't get a group photo this year, everyone was so scattered this time, but then again, that is how the whole month has felt to me.  At least we finally got the giant mudhole in the drive done, just finished it on Tuesday aqnd folks started arriving Wednesday.....that is cutting it way too close for my liking! :(

I'm in Nashville, after stopping off at the Parthenon. Will be headed to the Cumberland Gap Nat'l Monument and Eastern Kentucky after that.

Made it home about 30 minutes ago.  Mostly rain south of Montgomery most of the way home and windy here and there.

We made it home safe. Had a great time. Don't plan on waiting as many years to come back. Looking forward to next year.

I'm still here. leaving for Tallahassee tomorrow. Have to split the trip. Get too tired from driving more than 8 or 9 hours. Jerry and I, Doug and his grandsons and their wives went on a great ride today. About 100 miles total through back roads through the hills and valleys, with great weather.

Yep, we got a couple of calls that rang about twice, showed "Incoming Call" on the ID, and never quite completed the process.  Good news that most of our guests have found a place to roost, either home or another destination.  As always, we're honored that you make the effort to spend time with us!  G&A has some awesome people, and a lot of them go to a lot of trouble to visit a little dead-end hollow in middle Tennessee- - - - - -repeatedly!

Also, it's a good thing to know that the folks who might not actually be who they claim to be don't bother to show up.  It's just about impossible to keep up an internet charade in person.  That's happened more than a few times!  The SE Shoot has a way of separating the real folks from the wannabes!  Without exception, those of you who come here are the real thing!  You're welcome anytime you're in the neighborhood, shoot of not!  You'll always find a hot meal, a place to sleep, and hopefully, some good times!

    Jerry

You are very welcome, Miss Mary. You and Mr. Jerry are the best people. We all love you and miss you, every day, until we get back.

I wouldn't want anyone to find out that I'm really not an uneducated truck driver that lives in a delapated old shack in Denver, has almost no skills, no money, no class, no taste, and clings stubbornly to my trailer trash roots. The loss of face would be devastating.🐒

Glad to see the "chicks" are safely getting to their roosts and are letting "Mother Hen" know they are.   Seriously I do love all y'all and do really worry what with holiday traffic being what it can be.  As Mr. Jerry said, you honor us each time with your willingness to travel so far just so we can get together and have good food, good talks, oh and then there is the noise making on the back 40.....LOL! <3

BTW, Doug hit Ned with his drone as Ned was walking down to his target..............that was funny, Ned recovered, I dunno about the drone, it may have P-NEDS (Post-Ned-Encounter-Derangement-Syndrome)

You obviously need to come next year, and grab MHS, Mosseybuck, and Linefinder on your way out of CO.

Id have to find a way to commit two weeks of vacation time. Either the annual elk hunt or the annual Michigan trip would have to be sacraficed. I'm slowly getting crowded out of elk hunting, and going by myself as I get older could become a safety concern. ⏰

Carcass extraction is very physically demanding. Potentially dangerous.

OK, the return went safe and no breakdown; but, at times it was a cluster---------

We got 25 miles up 65 and the GPS said 65 was closed ahead, stay on 65. We got about 40 miles and there was a deputy parked in the road making us take the off ramp and at the end of the ramp another deputy sending us left.  But we wanted to go East, so we went west.
    No detour signs; but, we did find a TO 65 sign we took that way and came to a T intersection;
the GPS said go more west; but, Clean saw signs TO 65 and said go that way-----we did.

A few miles and the GPS starts screaming 65  closed ahead every 5 seconds and Clean is
is shouting over it saying follow the signs; then the GPS said turn left ahead take some obscure road. I did and Clean is hollering turn around you ***********; I didn't.

That road was one of those narrow roads,   that when on it you could see about 200 yds ahead sometimes unless you were going over a hill or in the gulley or on a curve. Then it was 50 yds or less.

It came out to a well used road that ended up going back to 65 above the road closure.

From there things went like clockwork until we got within 50 miles of home and then it
rained cats and dogs until we got home and then just a heavy sprinkle until I unloaded the cab of the truck.

Last time I used a GPS I shut it off because it was yelling at me.

    And we weren't even married.
