The upper echelon of FBI executives, in general, and the FBI lawyers specifically remind me of jellyfish. Jellyfish have no brain. Also:
The gastrodermis, which is the inner layer. The mesoglea, or middle jelly, between the epidermis and gastrodermis. The gastrovascular cavity, which functions as a gullet, stomach, and intestine all in one. An orifice that functions as both the mouth and anus.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer”

NPR reported just now that as usual the POTUS is trying to discredit ahead of time to smoke screen any findings.

I know this type of reporting is POing some on here, but I was laughing pretty hard.

Our tax dollars hard at work.

The Office of the Inspector General is to the Justice Department what an internal affairs bureau is to a police department. They investigate the investigators, then whitewash any wrong-doing by them, or on rare occasions recommend termination, as they did for the Director (James Comey) and Assistant Director (Andrew McCabe) of the FBI. Supposedly, they do criminal referrals for obstruction of justice, or other crimes committed, but so far, only Andrew McCabe has been referred, even though there is ample evidence to suggest that at least two high-up investigators were filtering evidence in a way to exonerate Hilary and toast Trump.

This particular investigation focused only on Hilary's illegal server investigation, and took 400 people 18 months to complete, with very little being produced that hasn't already been spelled out by the House Oversight committee, and Fox News. Eventually, when it's too late to matter, there will be a report on Justice Department handling of the FISA warrants against Trump campaign workers, and another that will cover Comey's leaking to the press, before and after he was fired.

The reason that this one is newsworthy is because the Assistant AG, who is pretty much the de facto AG, since Sessions has recused himself, has been slow-walking document requests and redacting huge portions from the documents that they do turn over to the House and Senate committees that are supposed to provide oversight of the Justice Department, as part of the checks and balance system. When questioned by Congress, Justice Department and the FBI hierarchy always say they can't answer till the IG report comes out.

If you haven't heard about any of this, you either go out of your way to avoid politics, or you watch CNN or the three big networks for your political news. Fox News has been attacked by the left for months for their reporting on this, but the IG report verifies most of the facts that they have reported, plus a few that haven't (due mostly to previous redactions) while downplaying most of their legal analysis of it.

Naw - it was just kids being kids - nothing to see here...or so the Democrats say. It would take a special prosecutor to do that, and both the AG and Assistant AG are in the tank for protecting their own. Sessions has pretty much abdicated his position, leaving Rosenstein to handle things, and Rosenstein is so conflicted between covering his own ass and those of his buddies that he likely never will, unless it looks like it might save his job, at some point.

That's right bisley, the IG can not indict like a special prosecutor nor does he have the same 'Legal Power'. The IG was investigating its own organization which is why many wanted an independent investigator no matter how well regarded he is, he was still looking into his own.

The IG can make recommendations, but can't charge anyone with anything. He can also call for internal changes to help prevent things from happening again.

I find it amazing that Trump has had zero influence over the Justice Department during his entire time in office. Obviously, he was pretty much clueless as to what he was walking into, else he would have never appointed a limp noodle for AG, and left Sally Page, Rod Rosenstein, James Comey, and Andrew McCabe in their jobs, to undermine him from the very beginning. He has managed to get rid of all of them but Sessions and Rosenstein, but they are still the top two in the Justice Department, with Sessions being almost totally irrelevant, and Rosenstein still working against his best interests. His new FBI Director (Wray) appears to be totally under the thumb of Rosenstein, his immediate superior, and is of no use to him that I can see.

Sessions has been absolutely worthless, having handed over his authority to Rosenstein, and placing Rosenstein in the unique position of getting to make judgements on contested issues that he has been personally involved in, in the previous administration. Both he and Comey have signed questionable requests for FISA warrants against members of a political campaign that were based on the unverified information provided by Hilary Clinton's opposition research team, originating in Russia. They have both been party to an investigation that has been run by counter-intelligence rules, directed by politically sensitive bureaucrats, rather than an actual legal investigation by real cops who present real facts to grand juries.

Obviously, Trump, knowing what he knows now, would love to fire both of them, and special investigator Mueller to boot. He hasn't, because of the political repercussions that would result, apparently. So, that being the case, he has to let all of the political machinations run their course and collapse from their own lack of steam. In my opinion, that is the behavior of an innocent man (at least in this instance) who has 'bigger fish to fry.'

No one want to comment the fact that Comey publicly announcing re-opening the Clinton investigation days before the election very likely was a key reason Trump actually won? That was the reason the IG found him "insubordinate." The election was decided by 100k votes in three states, easily within the margin swayed by his actions. Comey should be a conservative hero! He saved us from a Clinton presidency.
Democrats couldn't get enough illegal aliens to enough polling stations with enough fake I.D.s to make up for the lack of new 'voting from the grave' votes.
Never fear, Bernie 'Feel the Bern' Sanders will be running in 2020. Doesn't look like the banking fraud charges against he and his wife is going anywhere anytime soon. IF he gets elected then he can pardon his wife and himself! :D
And batears Obama is ginning up to start campaigning and endorsing candidates for the bread and circuses masses to fawn over and vote for; candidate that promises the most EBT and Welfare benefits, $40 dollar minimum wage, and FREE SMARTPHONES and FREE paid for by working people health insurance will win the nomination. The Democrat Party, a.k.a. the party of Vlad Lenin, will front a true Socialist to run against Trump!

If you look at the timeline of events, Comey may have had to bring up the Wiener/Abedin laptop thing when he did, to cover up the fact that the FBI had been in possession of it for several weeks and was apparently planning to sit on it till after the election.

There is some evidence to indicate that the agents involved were complaining about the lack of follow-up. There are apparently several field agents who have made it known that they would like to be subpoenaed on this and several other subjects. It is true that they could seek protection under whistle-blower statutes, but being subpoenaed forces them to testify, which is much better if a person wants to continue his FBI career. Everybody knows that a whistleblower has to succeed in taking out the party that he informs against, or he will face ruin.

Congress must be really tone deaf. With all the rank and file field agents all but begging to be subpoenaed to give testimony and air out the truth, you'd think that the Congresscritters would have subpoenas flying out of there that would make a blizzard in Montana look like a mere snow flurry.

Republican leadership is showing extreme cowardice, when it comes to trying to clean up the Justice Department. They are ignoring the work of the oversight committees in both houses of Congress, and are apparently too lazy to read the IG report, which confirms most of what the committees have turned up, and what has been reported on Fox News. Anybody can question the conclusions of what the facts mean, but no honest person can deny the facts that clearly demonstrate that something stinks to high heaven in the Justice Department.

Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell should be outraged, if for no other reason, because their oversight duties, which are a major part of the checks and balances, are being challenged by a sub-branch of the executive branch of the government. They should be pounding their shoes on the podium like Krushchev did, demanding that the de facto head of the Justice Department (Asst. AG Rosenstein) either recuse himself due to conflicts of interest, or resign for defying their authority.

If nothing else, they should pass a joint resolution that would, in effect, be a vote of 'no-confidence' in the leadership of the Dept. of Justice, and would give the President the political authority to fire Rosenstein, and force Sessions and Wray to clean up the FBI and Justice Dept., or resign and let somebody else do it.

I think the Democratic party is scared to death something like this will happen. People refuse to admit how deep and far the corruption runs, on BOTH sides. Just this time the Democrats will be uncovered first. That is why they have bombarded the Trump team with accusations.
Remember Trump decided to not release the Kennedy report and extended its classification?  Why would he do that? Total deep corruption even back then would point at both parties and topple the capital.

Yeah. Right. They will get allllll over that.
Both sides are worthless pieces of human ****. Period. The corruption is deep, and no one will ever do anything about it. Don’t crap where you eat, and all that rot.
OK, fine. You hate politics and all politicians are scumbags. Nobody is trying to help the country, and it's time to forget about politics and go straight to he revolution.

Forget about that handful of people who are still trying to save the country from becoming Venezuela. I hope you enjoy what you get when the Dept. of Justice starts pushing you around. In fact, why don't you vote for the next socialist that the Democrats select for the next messiah. It will speed things along.

Hmmmm- - - - -we've got an Alabama swamp rat with enough skeletons in his political closet to decorate a good-sized Halloween party running the justice department, so he's not likely to do anything but run and hide- - - - -his second in command is an Obama holdover whose main agenda is covering his own butt- - - - -the FBI makes the Keystone Kops look like law enforcement geniuses- - - - -the CIA and the other alphabet soup spook agencies are rotten to the core- - - - - -and all the politicians I can think of on both sides of the aisle are about as effective at doing their jobs as a steer would be as a herd bull on a Texas cattle ranch!

JUST WHERE, EXACTLY, ARE THESE KNIGHTS IN SHINING ARMOR WHO ARE TRYING TO SAVE THE COUNTRY COMING FROM- - - - -A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY, PERHAPS?

Here is my FB rant a few days ago on the IG report.

Here is what the IG report tells me. Sad but true.

All it tells me is that DC is totally corrupt. Both sides of the aisle. We the people are now we the SHEEPLE. Everyone up there covering their own butts and they know we can't do S*** about it. Pres.Trump can't drain it alone. I'm sure he has figured this out by now. DC no longer works for us. We are their peons. Everyone up there we have put faith in over the last few years has turned on us. We are alone now without any representation.
