Here's the gist of this article, and it ain't wrong.

"The left has made it clear that it will not accept the lawful authority of our system of government. It will not accept the outcome of elections. It will not accept these things because they are at odds with its ideology and because they represent the will of large portions of the country whom they despise."

"The left is a treasonous movement. The Democrats became a treasonous organization when they fell under the sway of a movement that rejects our system of government, its laws and its elections. Now their treason is coming to a head. They are engaged in a struggle for power against the government. That’s not protest. It’s not activism. The old treason of the sixties has come of age. A civil war has begun.

This is a primal conflict between a totalitarian system and a democratic system. Its outcome will determine whether we will be a free nation or a nation of slaves."

It's not really a civil war, yet, because it might still be settled by elections, if the left is defeated by overwhelming numbers. But, if that fails, it will keep spiraling downward, and the Constitutionalists will not give it up without a fight. The left is a house of cards, if politicians can muster the guts to enforce the Constitution, but they are not measuring up, so far. If they play hardball, relentlessly, they can win.

Nope, nothing bad can happen from this situation.
And people on both sides are openly embracing it. Ironically, it makes them more alike than different.

I think it is currently a civil war, the shooting just hasn't started yet.

I really have no use for either party; they both wipe their collective butts with the Constitution when it suits them. But the Left does have an ongoing love affair with Socialism as preached by Marx and Lenin, and that ain't good. And the Big Government to coddle from cradle to grave, and tax the rich into poverty. Their side thumbs their nose at religious freedom, firearms ownership, and personal freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution. They seem to be driven by emotion, not reason, and refuse to come together with the opposite side of the political aisle and work out solutions. Their 'taking their dollies and going home an pouting' is not how to come to a consensus solution.

Geographical lines? That's the old Sectionalist Lines that were polar opposites in the 1850s and before, and the outcome of that wasn't pretty. It is happening again, but in a much more fractured way. Not two very distinct sectional areas; now it's a whole mess of divisions with every one screeching for their way or the highway. The two major sectionalist lines are still there; they never left after that dust-up in the 1860s. There's just a whole lot of fracturing on both sides.

With very few exceptions, the Left are the ones that have used overt violence to push out and marginalize their opponents. And when a sitting member of Congress, Maxine Waters, calls on supporters to hound and harass the members of the opposite party wherever they are, then she is calling for open violent conflict and she knows it, no matter what she says to walk back her vile statement. Any blood shed, on either side, is on her hands, and she really doesn't care; her hate of Trump has made her hate to the point of demanding open conflict. That will work out really well. Mob mentality will eventually take over somewhere, and someone, or several, will get beaten severely, or killed. If that is what the Left wants to do, then they should realize that at some point, the fuse they lit will reach the powder keg.

I sympathize with the lefties who hate Donald Trump. But, I and a few million others didn't try to overthrow Obama when he started dismantling the system that made this country great, because he did it politically, and he could be held more or less in check by political means. The damage he did was still great, but one election has rolled back some of it in a little over a year, with more to come. It will probably take the rest of Trump's term and one more like it to clean up all of the bureaucracies that Obama populated with partisan political hacks. Hopefully voters will educate themselves enough to force the Democrat Party to reform itself, so we can someday get back to a functioning government.

I was attempting to post this earlier but was interrupted.

My son said today that he saw on social media(probably Twitter,  but idk that) that when Trump was was walking in the Capitol today an intern shouted "F Trump".

All that the sponsoring Senator/Rep did was suspend the intern for 1 week.

He also asked.me if I had read that Sen. McConnell and wife were harassed either today or yesterday.

I think(and hope) that the Dems/Liberals will be greatly surprised by their lack of votes in the midterms.  I suspect these tactics/antics will backfire on them.

This is predicated on the Right not doing something stupid before then.

WORD. The right has a great track record of snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory.

Would "doing something stupid" include defending oneself against a life-threatening attack?  That's where this cluster-flop is headed, like a city bus going downhill on a couple of inches of ice in a blizzard.

I think these midterms are as important as the last Presidential election.

Lots of folks get criticized for saying every national election is the most important one ever. But, when a baseball team is behind by four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, with two outs and a 3-2 count on the batter, they need a grand slam to have any chance of winning.

Before the last election, gun owners and Constitutional purists were in exactly that position. Had Hilary Clinton been elected, and Democrats had won both houses of Congress, we would be losing every single gun control controversy that came up. We would no longer have a southern border, and our military would be a demoralized institution that couldn't keep enough planes and ships working to train the minimal forces to keep our enemies at bay.

We were a hair's breadth away from losing our 'democracy,' with a four or eight year plan to undermine what was left of it. Regarding the mid-terms, they are hugely important if the country is to keep up the resurgence of the economy, the military, border control, combatting Islamic terrorism, and a hundred other issues of huge importance, not to mention cleaning up a Department of Justice that was quickly becoming an authoritative arm of the Democrat Party.
