Very nice!! I hope this one breaks your cycle of Colt's that don't like you..... Or do I :#

    Sako

The one you have broke that cycle...........last time out with it somewhere between the last ten-15 shots all hit the target spots. I expect the same or better from you now that it has decent grips.

If it doesn't perform I really should try and get back on Enzo's good side as small as that may be.
It shot pretty amazing with the skinny grips, It can only get better with the new one. Hope to prove that theory next week.

I expect nothing less than awesomeness now

I really should but it hasn’t helped yet.

Maybe I should try adoption. You interested in a slightly used man child? Good back, big arms, small head though. Mostly house broken, even when company comes, can use up three manners at once.

Ultimately, I’m not a pump action rifle kinda guy. I’d prefer it be a lever.

But, that’s not the point of this particular rifle, is it?  This is just a cool nostalgia item.

    Well done.

Thanks Zee on what you just said I'm not really a lever guy. The only one I've ever took a shine to was recently on that Winchester 92 SRC in 32-20. Partly because I have a lot of ammo for one and the other was its condition.
I don't know if it works yet.
I do know one part that keeps the slide closed is missing. I was told I'd still be able to use it.

I know the barrel is clear of obstruction as I've been cleaning it.
I think they were growing mushrooms in there.

    That’s my boy 😁

    What part is missing?
I don't really know these at all.
It's a part near the trigger that locks the pump forward.
I think it was taken out for cowboy action shooting.

The bore is clean now and been doing some oiling and waxing.

Glad a lot of us like these old timers I appreciate the comments.
    As it's progressing.

Definitely a beautiful rifle. Loading components are easy to come by as Starline makes .44-40 cases. I picked up 500 earlier this year and Lee has a 429-200-RF mold that replicates the original bullet pretty well. It's actually the same bullet that I use for my .44 specials so I already had a supply of them. I don't have my info here at the ranch but I have a smokeless load that replicates the original black powder loads and Big Al could tell you how they shoot as I actually haven't had a chance to try them yet but I know that he has.

    Yes I believe so.
I did look at the schematic before buying but it hurt my head not having the gun in hand.

Sakodude is my brass supplier on this one hes a great guy.
May have to work up a bear load for it and toss the gun to him.
A few dummies thrown in might be funny too..........for me.

Freaking Beautiful. You don't realize it but you're enabling people showing this stuff. I want to buy an AR with my tax return but if you keep showing stuff like  this I'll start going back to gun shows and buy something like this instead. You're making my life hard and complicated. UHG!
    Daddy, what's an enabler?
Son that's somebody with nothing to do with his time but keep me in trouble with mom.

Thanks Mike my biggest enabler was the guy from the 4th post.
I was always envious of the stuff he obtained with varitable ease.
He taught me a lot on the ins and outs of building a "collection".

The thing I really ran with if it's a stupid deal buy it.
I do that all the time now with gun related stuff.
That's what   fuels my gun fund. we

If you want an AR get  the AR
If you're not sold on one the hunt for a classic or something out of the ordinary is fun.

Being an enabler isn't bad is it ?

You can always get the bore lined.  It will make me happy, and maybe you.  It's not like a major investment.
