Had to stop and take this pic. Looking down on the Coeur d’Alene River.

When our governing officials dismiss due process as mere semantics, when they exercise powers they don’t have and ignore duties they actually bear, and when we let them get away with it, we have ceased to be our own rulers.

Looks like some nice weather to go with the nice scenery, I went for a walk with a chainsaw yesterday and was glad to be out too.

Last weekend for scouting. Season opens on Wednesday. Saw a nice elk herd with two bulls, one decent and the other a raghorn.

The view from 4th of July pass near the Montana border. The weather has turned since my last post.

We were scouting this AM in a State Park that offered a youth hunt and son #3 got drawn for, found a spot, hopefully the other 9 kids drawn won't be too close. Your fall colors are better than ours now. it is good to walk in the woods.

Good luck with the youth hunt! I'll be off work for 12 consecutive days trying to fill an elk tag.

The trick is to gradually work your up to extended hunting time. Start modest (3-5 days) and every year after add a day or two. It doesn't hurt to have all the winter prep complete before opening day!

She starts imagining what we are up to and you know you can't have fun without the wife, it is not allowed.

Decent morning. We ended up with three grouse.
