After the yearly session closed, all the Representatives went home exhausted and the damage was done. So what did they accomplish during this high pressure year in Sacramento? This is an update today on the progressive Democrats’ continued destruction of California. The ones who would not endorse Dianne Feinstein, because she is not sufficiently Socialist extreme.
By the way, we are already deemed the worst state for businesses. Here are some of the highlights of this session:
* Passed Cap-n-Trade Tax which will increase gas 0.63 to 0.93 cents a gallon change and the taxes that go with it. So do the math projection..... (0.12 + 0.63 = 075/gallon + current $3.10/gallon = $3.85/gallon)
* Proposed increase on a new tax every residence will pay for tap water!
* A $3.46B parks bond to pay for parks in "disadvantaged communities". The debt service alone will be over $200 million a year. The good news is some money goes to help fix the Salton Sea which should have always been a State responsibility!
* Law to release any lifer (murder, rape , child molestation, etc.) who is 60 years old and has already spent 25 years in prison! Charles Manson would have qualified if he just waited a few months before dying; and the Melendez brothers that murdered their parents could be released in about 12 years? Victims?... What victims?
* A new $ 50 charge on all residents living in a mobile home parks to address “living condition enforcement” in those parks? What the hell does that mean? As if having to live in a mobile home park isn’t bad enough? Regressive tax on the poor?
* We picked an official dinosaur for the State of California. Really???
* Requires Tesla to either unionize with the United Auto Workers Union, or forfeit State incentives to buy their electric cars! Maybe political blackmail doesn’t count as breaking any law. Unions are loving it. “Watch out solar companies... They may be coming after you next!!!”
Hang tight Elon!
* Reduce from a felony to a misdemeanor the purposeful intent to transmit the AIDS virus to a unknowing partner
* Give preferential treatment to prisoners convicted of serious crimes that are less than 25 years oldbecause their brains are not mature enough to understand right from wrong. Whaaat?
* A bill to require our true sex be omitted from drivers licenses? Whaaat?
* Free legal services for illegal immigrants... Of course!
* Establish safe "injection zones" run by government to oversee people injecting heroin!
Yep, it all passed! You may consider forwarding this so that ALL Californians can be proud of our elected officials. #JerryBrown #ShitholeCalifornia

Goddess Mother! I knew about the AIDs misdemeanor thing, but not any of the rest of it. My wife reconnected with a friend there she hadn't communicated with since we left - said friend says its getting crazy.

It went NUTZO right after the election, but its gotten worse since I left, obviously. I'm so glad I'm the **** out of that **** ****HOLE of a state!

Not living in California (Kamalafornia?) I have no standing to criticize these enactments. But lets face it - the Californians love it. They deliberately elect and re-elect and re-re-elect and re-re-re-elect their state senators and reps.

CA is the progressive Shangri-La these voters want it to be - next stop - Utopia, and then on to the goal - the holy grail of liberalism - Venezuela!

Unfortunately, there is a cliff before that slippery slope reaches bottom, and I think they're about to fall off of it!

When I lived in Watsonville, just south of Santa Cruz, I spoke to many "dreamers" whose parents came illegally years ago when they were children.  The dreamers vote!  You can imagine the hundreds of thousands if not millions of votes that they cast for the Democrats every election.  Now they are given drivers licenses and registration at every DMV BECAUSE " if they live and work here they pay taxes and should be allowed to vote..." according to the City of Davis!

You ask why don't we leave???  My wife's youngest child is buried here and she won't leave him.  Visits the grave monthly and moving for her is not an option.  Sadly.

I didn't know you lived in Watsonville - I lived in Elkhorn and Moss Landing (and Salinas, but we won't talk about that!).

It's just amazing how many violent criminals that will soon be realest, crime is bad enough now but will obviously get much worse.
I am so glad I got out of that state, North Dakota may be cold in the winter but california is truly turning into hell, and yes small c was intentional.

I am a native Oregonian who spent 3 years in Southern California in the mid 1970s. I had no problems the first year as Reagan was governor. Jerry (moonbeam) Brown for 2 years but mostly no problems for me. I will welcome any of our members to my state. My words of advice is to expect California politics. A huge influx of California 'Refugees' from the late 1960s to present resulted in them being elected to municipal, county, and state government positions turning my state into California! The Democrats took control in 1986 and have never looked back. If you are planning on escaping California to Oregon research the Eastern part of the state which is mostly conservative. Unfortunately it has 80% of the land populated by 20% of the conservatives. Our current "Governess" is Jerry Brown's Lil sister Kate. She will be re-elected in November.

With all due respect to all of our California members, WHAT THE HELL IS KEEPING YOU THERE???

The United States rescued France twice, secured the Korean Peninsula, gave Vietnam the Old College Try, and has been busy in the Middle East for the best part of 20 years pushing the cause of freedom.  I figure your Army of Liberation will be along any day.   The least you guys could do is air drop some C-rats and FP-1's so we know you care :/

If only I could take the job and pension with me.  Worked hard and long to get it just cant walk away quite yet.  I'm set to leave, PA is the final destination but I would be a fool to walk away right now.
So no it's just not that easy.
