Cool vehicle.............

............to carry dad to his last resting place.

You have seen pics of our 1924 Dodge Van.  Well, the funeral director has the vehicle below.....a 1917 Dodge Bros Hearse which is fully restored.

When they were restoring it a few years ago, we went through the pile of Dodge parts stored in the sheds at the homestead and supplied some bits and pieces to help with the restoration.

The only thing missing yesterday were a couple of gangsters wearing overcoats and Fedoras hanging off the running boards carrying Thompson sub machine guns.

Very elegant.  My personal preference would be for a gun carriage or caisson with the accompanying charger with boots reversed.  However, I am in no hurry!!!!!

It was the obvious choice between the modern hearses and that one.

As we travelled through the township, the Dodge coughed and sputtered and at times backfired. We had a police escort for the journey from the church to the cemetery and when it first backfired the lead escort hit the brakes lol.
