Suspicious packages sent to Obamas, Clintons, CNN, Wasserman, Shultz, Soros

Big ChiefBig Chief Posts: 32,995 Senior Member
And now one intercepted addressed to former AG Eric Holder.

Looks politically motivated to me, but you never know. One thing I know it is wrong and I hope they catch the person who sent them soon.

None detonated and there is a lot of speculation if that was by design/intent or just a bad triggering device.

Now, I as most of you are at political opposites of all the intended recipients and I wouldn't wish this on anyone, even them.

I just hope it's not some right-wing nut-job that'll make the rest of the party look bad.

We don't need a lightning rod for the other side to rally around with elections right around the corner.

I agree with Chief, I hope they catch this guy/girl/group and prosecute. Terrorism, foreign or domestic, is unacceptable.

After past events, it would not surprise me to find out this is misdirection...

Look at who they were sent to. They all have administrative staff. None of these people open their own mail... They were never in any danger themselves. It's suspect as hell.

Intelligent folk will reserve judgement until the investigation is done, whereas political hacks will try to use it to get votes.

It could be a right-wing looney tune, or a left - wing manipulator. I think that there is no way a mainstream voter, of either party would touch anything like this, with a ten foot pole. And, don't forget the Russians and their minions, or the Chinese, for that matter.

Okay, if a person was smart enough to do all this would they not realize that none of these people would be anywhere close to the packages ... they have minions to handling the mundane stuff. I would believe a crackpot would send a couple or so to low hanging fruit but the number and level just screams somebody(s) got a package and the rest are claiming they did too.

No offense to anyone here, but I could give a rat's ass if this is a "right wing lunatic". The lunatic doesn't speak for me any more than any other lunatic speaks for any other group.  Anybody who believes this idiot speaks for the "right wing" is smoking some fine stuff.

Based on who got them, possibly a false flag exercise...just a thought because I am naturally cynical.

My thoughts, exactly.  The timing of this versus the mid-term elections (along with the caravan of conveniently organized asylum seekers) is just way too convenient.  Either a false flag or a straight-up case of planted evidence to generate negative press.

The Dems are already trying to make political hay outta this.

Now they say Maxine Waters/office got one too.

It seems almost "Too Perfect" ...............the list of those targeted. Might be some right wing nutcase or some left wing operative.

Don't think it is an anarchist.

Historically, small groups of politically motivated conspirators have exhibited very poor intelligence. It may not be, but could possibly be people that failed to comprehend the backfire results.

A failure to detonate is not surprising to me. It could easily be unintended.

If it was leftist conspirators, it appears to me to be more sophisticated than historical incidents that I'm aware of.

I'm seriously betting it's a false flag op by someone to gain sympathy and votes for the Democrats right before the mid term election. I saw the pic on TV of the 'pipe bomb' they found at one location. From what I could see, that thing had about as much chance of going off as Hillary Clinton has of becoming pregnant. That particular 'bomb' was just something to scare folks, nothing more nor less. And I'd suspect the others were just as inactive.

The stupidity of the person who built the devices is the stupidity that will get them caught quickly.

Of all these "bombs" not one of them went off...according to some folks in the know, all of them had the textbook appearance of a "suspicious package", excessive postage, heavily taped, etc...the devices themselves were sloppily constructed, with ill fitted end caps, etc and had all the hallmarks of a device that was never intended to actually work and were clearly assembled by an amateur.

The timing of this thing and the " targets" are entirely to obvious...

Not sure if this thread belongs here or in the Political forum but as current news I'm inclined to leave it here as long as no one complains.

    ...
    I won't complain....

Might be hard not to politicize it though -- ;)

How many were “proactively detonated”? With a little technical knowledge a person could make a device and “pre-detonate” a wire or two so the device would never function but the inspection after a “proactive detonation” would make it appear to have been functional ... unless the lab tech really knew to look for something and the EOD guys didn’t go overboard in the proactive detonation.

The preferred method for neutralizing  a potential explosive device is with the use of a " disruptor"...a 12 gauge barrel filled with water with a blank in the chamber......it will tear the end cap right off a pipe bomb and tear any firing mechanism apart....leaving enough evidence to figure out how it was made.

Using explosives to neutralize a device is usually considered a last resort...

I think it's more likely than not that these "bombs" were sent by demonicrat operatives to distract from the caravan or create sympathy votes for the dims. They can't get much more desperate than this.

And now one sent to building where a grill owned by Robert De Niro is located.

They are saying this bomber is a incredibly incompetent amateur or a professional pretending to be an amateur.

Funny to watch how fast the law jumps on this & falls asleep on the management crimes that have already been exposed . Protect & serve is meaning protect the government crooks & serve fake warrants on average people . It is so crazy out there now it is tough to keep up with the latest nut job . The truth is no where to be found ...... that is if someone is really looking or just giving lip service . A 12 yo kid with the internet can build a better bomb than what was sent . Maybe we can get another Warren commission to investigate it & never tell us the truth again .

They will catch the jerk(s) pretty soon. So much forensic evidence and cameras everywhere will lead them right to the bomber.

You can bet Hillary will add this "attempt on her life" to her " being under sniper fire" war story.

Just to clarify...the only difference between a fairy tale and a war story is that one begins with "Once upon a time" and the other begins with " Now this ain't no sxxx"...

    Yep.
    Nothing about politics here.

Crazy maniacs no longer exist. Now they're racists, leftist loonies, right wing extremists, and/or terrorists with elaborate agendas.

All depending on whatever narrative someone wants to use insane behavior to promote.

Far too much time and energy is spent worrying about the "why" something was done, and not near enough time making eh-holes PAY dearly, in blood.  "Why" should, imo, never enter into the equation.
