Where have you hunted?

JerryBobCoJerryBobCo Senior MemberPosts: 7,934 Senior Member

Just because.

I grew up in west Texas, so all of the hunting I did in my youth was in Texas.  Most of it was in west Texas, depending on what you consider west Texas.  I've also hunted the piney woods of east Texas, but never even saw anything to shoot.

As for states, I've hunted in

 - New Mexico once

 - Utah for 3 years

 - Kansas 2 years

 -  Missouri once

 - Colorado for nearly 30 years

 - Montana this year.

West Africa when I was a teenager.  That was 30 years ago......have not had the opportunity to go hunting since.  Am really wanting to get back into it, but not familiar enough with laws, techniques and where to hunt here in Florida.

Texas - Deer, hogs, ducks, geese, dove, quail, turkey, bunnies, squirrels, etc
California - Blacktail, mulies, bear, turkey, quail, chukar, doves, bunnies
Arizona - One successful mulie hunt
    Michigan - Two whitetail
Idaho - Moose, elk, deer, bear, grouse, turkey, snowshoe hares, wolves, and all trapping species

I guess east to west would make the most sense:

    South Africa (plains game, predators)

Pennsylvania (whitetail, turkey, upland birds, predators)

    Maryland (whitetail)

    South Carolina (alligator)

    Georgia (squirrel, furbearers)

    Ontario/Canada (black bear)

    Ohio (whitetail, turkey, waterfowl)

    Tennessee (whitetail, turkey)

Iowa (whitetail, waterfowl, upland birds, furbearers)

    South Dakota (whitetail, turkey)

Nebraska (whitetail, turkey, waterfowl, upland birds, squirrel, coyote)

    Kansas (turkey)

Montana (whitetail, mule deer, pronghorn, upland birds, turkey)

    Colorado (elk, prairie dogs, coyotes)

    Arizona (waterfowl)

Nevada (mule deer, pronghorn, waterfowl, upland birds, coyotes)

    Alaska (mountain goat)

Not all were successful, but all were memorable.

Texas if you consider chasing pigs with dogs, catching them and tying their legs together hunting.
I’d depends on what you do after they are tied up
