2-300 fps gain is an extreme outlier.  You're talking about the same difference between a 06 based case vs a belted mag, in cartridges that are less than 5g capacity difference. Sub 200 ish makes sense with what,  a 2 grain difference in charges?

With what weight bullet and what pressure?

    140gr bullet.

Don’t have a pressure gauge. No clue.

But, a half grain more and I’m blowing primers. I’m so far off the reservation........the Cavalry is after me.

That's smokin' Dude! I think we went to the same school. I get 3075-3100 out of my .270 Winchester with 130 grain SGKs with a stubby 22" barrel.

Interesting discussion. PRC is supposed to mean Precision Rifle Cartridge. But the meaning of PRC as in People's Republic of China predates it by a few decades, back to 1949. I can't get past the earlier meaning of PRC. :)

The load I've used for the past 37 years is .3 grains away from a sticky bolt and flat primers. At 57 grains of IMR 4831 under any 130 grain bullet it hits the wall. But at 56.7 it's a sweet, accurate load with not a hint of pressure.
