I like that one. Way cheaper than the P22 also. That will go on my short list.

I like that, would make a good training pistol for the wife and new shooters. Low priced practice as well.

It's a P22 in Ruger Clothing! I am anxious to see what the LGS will charge for this pistol. Ruger has always made great .22's.

I like it. It would serve well as both a practice SD gun and a nifty camp/trail pistol. The MSRP of $399 puts it at about $300-325 at the LGS. That is a fair price to pay.

...I'd definitely try to do a "side-by-side" before I bought the Ruger, these M&P .22's are "Sweet!!!"

    OK. . .Ruger's got a .22 that's a mildly tweaked Walther P22 and a rifle that seems to be about 70% Savage.

The Emperors new clothes story comes to mind.

I will not pay that much for that handgun, give Me an older Ruger MKlll or a Colt Woodsman and I will be happy all day.

    Edited to add:

Looks like the stuff Lucy Lui was prancing around with in that horrible flick with Antonio Banderas "shrek vs wreck" or whatever nonsense that movie was called.

Looks like a P22 rip off much like the LCP and PC9 are both Kel-Tec ripoffs. I'm sure they will sell a good amount of them, and it'd make a neat trail gun, but it won't take the place of the 22-45/MK1/MK2/MK3 series for me (especially when I can get a target barreled 22/45 for $307 OTD).

Seems like handguns, rifles, and shotguns are going the automobile cookie cutter route. They all look basically the same with only minor and insignificant differences. Kind of like NASCAR race cars!

Rip off from this, rip off from that... What do you expect? There's only so much that can be done and still keep these firearms ergonomic, comfortable, safe, etc. So it resembles another make or model...if those are selling why not join the parade? Why not start complaining how the Blackhawk is too close to the SAA. Everyone here only ever buy the very first, original make and model of a particular design or style (look).

I guess it doesn't have a mag disconnect, so it might be a good thing to trade the p-22 in on.

Looks tippy: the slide seems too big for the grip pictured.

So, Ruger has made a .22LR version of the Taurus 24/7?

Seriously. That thing looks to be a dead ringer for the Taurus.

With all those nice looking handguns Ruger sells, sooner or later they had to have one come out like this one. I'd rather own a 45/22 than this.

I like the new Ruger offering. I have been thinking about the Walther for awhile as well as the new S&W M & P 22. This throws something else in the mix. I need something to slip in my wader chest pocket or pack while fishing and woods bumming.

Got to handle the Ruger SR22, Walther P22, and the Sig Mosquito, this morning. The Ruger and Walther are the same size. I have small hands and they both feel kinda dinky to me. The Mosquito fills my hand better and has a little more heft to it. Looks like a Sig will top my list at tax time.

The Ruger comes with different different sized ( interchangeable ) grips and the Sig is notorious for being unreliable........just something to consider.

no it still has a mag disco and also a backwards safety.

also i personally don't like that slide says pistol on it.

Not a bad looking little (albeit, obvious) answer to the P22. I would need two questions answered before I would consider it, however: 1) how bad does the trigger suck out-of-the-box (this is Ruger, afterall) and 2) how difficult is it to replace said presumably awful trigger?

No joke - I looks like a nice gun. However, I'll have to wait a bit before I could consider it. I just want to hear any gripes/bugs/fixes circulate for a bit. In my experience, .22 pistols are either winners or complete dogs. Seldom do they fall anywhere in the middle.

Well..........that's so you won't confuse it with the Ruger SR22 rifle.....duh.

I got to handle one (with the option to buy of course) a couple of weeks ago. It was priced at $359 which is a bit high based on the auction sites, but not way out of line by the time you consider transfer etc.

The trigger wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either--typical Ruger.

I passed, because it didn't really appeal to me a whole lot that day, but in retrospect I might consider one for the future. I definately liked it better than the Walther verson because it just seemed more solid.

I see it as another "happy medium" .22 auto filling the middle ground between the pocket sized Beretta Bobcat (21A) and Ruger and Browning's larger auto offerings.

Wanted to bump this as I just got back from an outdoorshow where the Ruger booth had one on display. I got to feel t up and I have to say that it felt great. VERY nice sights that are interchangeable (dark/light) and the toolless interchangeable grip system is easy to use. In short, no doubt I would buy one of these if the price was right.
