Some of y'all old geezers probably remember the Monkees and their TV show and songs. Been a while since they were popular. Peter Tork died today.

Back when songs played on the radio were 3 minutes or less. I used to know the reason, maybe they felt they felt listeners attention span would wane after 3 minutes or it had something to do with advertisements/Payola...I forget now.

The old 45 RPM records usually only held about 3 minutes of sound on them.

I loved those guys back in the late 60's. Their TV show was pretty funny too.

Rock on Peter! Great group with several music connections. Will always remember the show from my first days of remembering TV.

I'm not old enough to have witnessed the original mania around them, but I do distinctly remember their resurgent popularity in the late 1980's when syndicated broadcasts of their show and a reunion tour were all the rage.
