Ordering a gun through Cabela’s- Total goat-rodeo

I had a couple off leftover gift cards after Christmas, so on December 26th, I went online and ordered a Ruger 10/22 Charger on the Cabela’s website.
I order a Millet handgun scope at the same time.
A couple days later, I get a backorder email from Cabelas. Eh... no biggie. I can wait a few days.
I then go and buy a .22LR suppressor.
I keep checking status.... still on backorder. A month goes by. Get an email from Cabela’s- Do I want to cancel? No. Keep on backorder. I call a couple of times. On backorder. No idea when Ruger is going to ship them to us.
February... I get another email, “Do I want to cancel?” Nah- lets see how long this takes. Call a few more times, same story “It’s on backorder from Ruger.” I check online distributors- they have them in stock. Ask Cabela’s about that “We don’t order through those distributors”
March- Check status: “Order Cancelled”. What... the....deep fried, candy coated HELL is going on? I call Cabela’s “It looks like you canceled the order on Feb 26th: Customer changed mind”. Can you look at the email I sent where it says ‘Yes, please keep on backorder?’.
“Hmmm. I don’t know why that was canceled.”
”Can you reinstate the order?”
”No, I’ll place a new one for you.”
”That puts me at the back of the line, right?”
”Yes, and there is nothing I can do to get you moved up”
I try to get an estimate from them as to WHEN it will ship. ‘No idea, Backorder from Ruger’
What the hell.... I call Ruger. Nope, no backorder on the Charger pistols.
Call Cabela’s back. There is nothing they can do to get it to me faster. ‘Thanks for letting us know it’s not on backorder, I’ll fill out a special form to send to Order Management’.
At first it was funny, now it’s just infuriating.

Couple of years ago friend of mine who's the products manager of the biggest local importer visited Ruger and saw that they were operating at full capacity and still had troubles to cope the demand; mentioned that the 10/22 line was working 24/7.
Although due to its purchase volume Cabela's should be among the top distributing priorities for Ruger, MAYBE this can explain the backorder issues. Also maybe current protocols for orders as yours is to reset them automatically after say 3 months or so of not being able to fulfill them.
Not a fan of that particular model, but hope you get yours ASAP.

Four and a half months. But it’s finally here!

I need to take it to 50 and 100 yards to see if I need to get different rings. The good news was that I was basically able to make one ragged hole with 15 rounds at 25 yards.
Thursday I have blocked off time to take it out with the .22 suppressor. That may change the POI as well.
No pics because my phone had suddenly decided it does not like being a camera anymore.
