Dropped my edc

I was getting out of my vehicle today at the gas pumps and I felt my pistol falling but I wasn't fast enough to catch it. I picked it up and noticed a screw laying beside it, looking around I found 2 screws and washers. I looked at my holster and 2 of the screws had feel out and the pistol just slid out the bottom. Nobody else seemed to notice so that was good. I never checked  those screws before but I will be from now on.

No harm no foul, at least it did not go bang.

I have a holster for big revolvers that needs the screw tightened regularly

Adjust the tension screws with the pistol in place...the flip it over and super glue them in place...check periodically....

It must be the make of holster.  I've never had a problem with tension screws on any of mine.  On the other hand, clip-on holsters are a joke.  They come off at the worst possible times.

You can always add a retention strap.

It's made by alien gear owb leather and kydex. I can't carry very often but I have used this for at least two years. The screws were tight when new and I see no reason to replace it but some locktight will be applied. Why they came loose I don't know.

I worked on my holster last night and noticed the screws were plenty short. I still had the bag it came with and there were longer screws so I put them in. It came with different bushings and screws to customize the fit so it's possible I used the wrong screws in the beginning. A Sig, no but I don't get the connection.

There was a problem with the new military SIGs discharging when dropped

I have a couple of Alien Gear holsters, loose screws are a common complaint, even with the longer screws.  Locktite is the answer.

Fortunately nothing came of it. IMO, most people aren't really paying attention and wouldn't notice. The few that did, probably wouldn't care.

As a side note, every credible instructor and LEO I have talked to has said the same thing when you make a whoopsie and drop a gun: DO NOT TRY TO GRAB IT. LET IT FALL.

Same goes for a knife with the blade exposed.
