The fallout continues. ANZAC day celebrations.

In the meantime, Police, up until yesterday are as far as I know, are still guarding Mosques.

The media frenzy is still in full swing.

I am disgusted that the sacrifices of those that laid their lives down to give us the freedoms we have will not be honoured the way they have been in the past.

Still enjoying the trip of a lifetime and making the best of what I have.....

And likely no one can dare utter the words over reaction for fear of reprisal.

Depending on the level and duration of institutional panic, someone will eventually have to assume the risk of questioning reason.

Anzac Day services remain unchanged for Nelson

    Carly Gooch14:05, Apr 12 2019

Nelson and Tasman services on April 25 are remaining as they have done in recent years; unaffected by the recent attacks in Christchurch.

Nelson RSA president Barry Pont said everything would be going ahead as "normal" with the three service around Nelson, including the 6am dawn parade at Anzac Park, the Nelson City Council service at the Church Steps at 10.30am and the Stoke Parade at the Stoke Memorial Hall at 10.30am.

Pont said there would be the "normal RSA parades".

Police discourage rogue Anzac Day events but will not clamp down on them, commissioner says

Aucklanders should turn out in numbers at dawn on Anzac Day and hold twice as many services as usual.

I made a batch of Anzac biscuits the other day. Something I do from time to time. It's my form of remembrance and I get to tell everyone I give the cookies to the story and recipe. History and a treat.

Maybe ANZAC day should take on some new additional meaning in light of the recent legislation, seems like a good day to let the politicians know how you feel about being regulated and oppressed.

I have to think the anger over this in NZ is off the charts right now.

It is Anzac day morning here, our Dawn Service Remembrance starts in just over an hr at 6.30am. It will be interesting to compare numbers to last year and what is said.

Numbers were well up . there was a moderate visible police presence all of whom carried side arms and semiautomatic rifles.
Both intersections North and South of the Ceremony site were blocked by big trucks.

Speeches were made as usual, all short and to the point, reference was made to the recent murder of 50 citizens or our country .

A very poignant, somber thought provoking Remembrance  was made by a local RNZAF
[ Royal New Zealand Air force] Helicopter pilot, a women, who bravely got through what would have choked me up completely.
I guess that's why she is capable of doing what she does and I simply do what I do.

This time though, something which has been absent for some years, there a was three shot salute just after Last Post/ Reveille.
I have no idea exactly why this was bought back by the organizers  after so many years of being incorrect, but I sure as heck like my version of why.

All in all, it made me sad.
    It also made me proud.

It's nice to see sometimes common sense breaks out.
