Made a deal for a mill drill tonight

timctimc Senior MemberPosts: 6,684 Senior Member
My old gunsmith got out of the business a while back and has started selling off some of his equipment. I managed to pick up a jet 16 mill/drill from him. He is throwing in a bunch of accessories with it he said because it was me, nice guy!
i pick it up tomorrow afternoon. I’ll be able to do some sight and barrel work. One more piece of the shop.
kinda pumped to get this and so cheap.

I’m excited, I still have a lot of learning to do but having the equipment is a major push forward. I’ve been working on my shop for several years now, this is a big addition.

    Congrats Tim
Is this something that would work for say finishing a 80% lower?

80% AR, pistol, ..... I’ve been getting deeper and deeper into gunsmith work for many years. I love tinkering with guns. This will be a big jump. I’ll have to see what hestill has left of his shop, bluing vats ect...

Not funny, already been talking to the wife about doubling the size.
im under 10 years to retirement, I need to start getting the shop in order. I want everything done  and paid for so its more about fun than needing to making money to pay for  all the equipment.

Slow and easy, will take me a little while to learn it. Hopefully I’ll have all the equipment I need by the time I retire then I can build my own custom guns and tinker with whatever. One piece at a time...
