Coyote questions

I've had some problems with coyotes killing the wife's yard birds. I finally get off my ass and set some traps. The first yote I catch looks like she is nursing a litter of pups.

It is the end of May...will the pups survive?

Do I score this as Me-1 coyote-0 or Me-5 coyote 0?

When our governing officials dismiss due process as mere semantics, when they exercise powers they don’t have and ignore duties they actually bear, and when we let them get away with it, we have ceased to be our own rulers.

An old rancher I used to shoot prairie dogs for once told me, "You shoot a mature pdog and you've stopped a year or two of digging. You shoot a pup and you've stopped 5 or 6 years of digging".

Kill a nursing bitch and it's unlikely the pups will survive...unless she was starting them on solid food, like chicken...then the male half may step up and feed the kids.

That right there is the reason we never hunt at pup time, just can't stand the thought of leaving a litter of pups to starve...

BUT...in your case, you didn't have many options...as long as the buffet is open, she'll keep coming back...

Yeah, I really don't care about the pups...in fact, I do not want them to survive. I'll just have to trap/shoot the little bastards later.

Makes sense to me.  Ask a Texas/Oklahoma rancher if they have any issue if wild hog piglets starve, I’m thinking you’ll get a snicker.

    Will they survive? Hopefully not.

    There’s a (tr)app for that.
